A lot of people are changing their ideas about which foods are healthy.
In the United States, many "low-carb" diets are very popular. On a lowcarb diet, people eat a lot of proteins, like fish, chicken, meat, and eggs.
They also eat foods with a lot of fat. But they don't eat a lot of
carbohydrates. That means they don't eat a lot of bread, potatoes, pasta,
or rice. And it also means they eat few foods with sugar, including some
fruit. Does it sound crazy? Some people think so. But every day more
people in the U.S. are trying low-carb diets. And for a lot of them, the
results are great.
