CALLED BUSINESS MEETING

A Special Called Business Meeting will be held during the
Prayer Meeting time on Wednesday, May 18.
The sole purpose of this meeting will be to consider a motion
from the Personnel Committee- "To adjust the current 2016
Budget Line: Pastor Salary, in preparation for discussions
with candidates".

THANK YOU
Thank you to all who participated in the Truck Loading for the
Georgia Baptist Children's Home on the Baxley Campus. The
GBCH provides a special ministry to hurting children and
families. Through your gifts you have entered into that
ministry by demonstrating love in the name of Jesus.

AGENTS OF THE APOCALYPSE

Some of the participants in the recent Agents of Babylon
Bible study by Dr. David Jeremiah would like to revisit the
study of Revelations in Agents of the Apocalypse, previously
offered last year. If there is enough interest, the study will be
on Thursdays at 10 a.m. beginning in June. Please let the
church office know by May 27 if you are interested in
participating. Hopefully, Ron Gilliard will be able to
facilitate this study; if not, Jim Beck will substitute.

Minister of Youth & Students Rev. Jeff Baxley
Director of Children Stacey Jones

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

Dr. Gardner will be taking a week of vacation and will be out
of the pulpit this Sunday. We look forward with anticipation to
hearing Rev. Jeff Baxley preach in his absence. Make a point
to attend either the 9:00 or 11:00 AM service this week as we
worship under Jeffs leadership.

CHILDRENS CHOIRS TO SHARE

Our Childrens Choirs will share special music they have
prepared at the Prayer Meeting, next Wednesday night at 7:00.
Come be blessed by our young voices and show them your
support. Wednesday will be the last night for Childrens
Choirs until the fall, when schools resume.

MEMBERS HONORED
Students lives are really busy during the last few weeks of the
school year. Many school organizations (sports teams,
cheerleading, chorus, honor societies, etc.) gather to honor the
achievements of students. I had the joy of attending the
Bainbridge High School Band end of the year Concert and
Awards Celebration last night. Three of our students were
honored: Jonathan Thrower for exceptional service as the
2016 Band Manager; Matthew Walker for receiving the 2016
Instrumentalist Magazine Merit Award, and Mackenzie
Sewell for receiving the John M. Long Band Award.
Congratulations to each band member for jobs well done in
2015-16. Also, Joe Frank Battles received the 2016 Joe Crine
Award, and Dr. Fred Rayfield was honored with the 2016
Bainbridge High School Band Honorary Lifetime
Membership Award.

Sunday Morning, May 22

We will worship together in only the 11 am service this day due to the
Senior Breakfast. Parents are encouraged to pick their children up from
Sunday School (even those who will be attending children's worship)
and then after the recognition of seniors and children's sermon during
the 11 am service in the sanctuary, children will be dismissed to the
Fellowship Hall for Children's Worship and may be picked up there
after the service has ended.
Early Session volunteers are asked to assist during Extended Session
time due to the influx of children with the combined service.

VBS!
Submerged: Psalm 139:23-24 June 20-24 (evening, times TBA)
Rotation Leaders Needed! I am looking to fill all the rotation leader
positions. Rotations are preschool and elementary and include
missions, recreation, Bible story, and music. Is God calling you to
serve this year?
Calling all painters (and those who think they can't, but really can- you
know who you are)! I am in need of people to prime sets and paint
them. If you are willing to help, please contact me. Times and dates
are flexible. We just want to get our stage ready for VBS!

Parent Luncheon
Parents, join us for a time together following the
morning service on Sunday, May 15th in the youth
building. We will provide lunch for you and then I
would like a few minutes to discuss upcoming events
as well as a plan for the future of our parent ministry.
Graduate Recognition
On Sunday morning May 22nd, we will be
celebrating the graduating class of 2016. We will
have a breakfast for high school seniors on the
morning of the 22nd at 8:30 in the Fellowship Hall.
Also, during the morning service we will recognize
the graduates and present them to the church.
Please note that we will have only one morning
service on this day beginning at 11:00.

CentriKid July 18-22

All children who will complete 2nd through 6th grades are invited to
attend CentriKid camps in Norman Park, Georgia on July 18-22. This
is a sleep-away camp that is super fun and presents the Gospel at every
turn. This year the theme is Unseen and we will study Ephesians 6:19.
It is super fun! It is not too late to let me know if you would like to
participate. I have 10 spots left and need to know asap if you are
planning to attend.

Summer Plans
We are two weeks away from school being out. We
have a lot of plans for this summer so be sure to keep
an eye out for details and schedule for all our events
and activities!!

Stacey

Blessings,
Jeff
