Health & healing lesson 3

Charles Reynods
SSL 2010 Q2| Lesson 3

Introduction
We will argue several points in this study:

1. God in His divine word has explained the reality of demons and their evil intent.
2. Holy angels are one of the counter-punches
3. Men/women, even proclaimed followers of God, are unaware of Satan's [Link] even
strengthen their devices.
4. Physical health directly impacts spiritual health and that practice is essential to win in
athletics as well as the good fight of faith.
5. Thus God provides us with a complete repituar of simple weapons to overcome the enemy
despite our reluctance to use them

Angel's relationship with humans

Angels are? Cherubim Ezekiel 1 or 10, seraphim Isaiah 6:1,2 Rev 4:8 saying Holy, holy, holy

Angels duties: Serve God, serve man Hebrews 1:14; comforted Hagar when Sarah "despised"
her Genesis 21:17-21. What Angel of the Lord was this (Genesis 16:13)? God personally interacts
with us when we allow Him to. Gen 19, Lot's wife, teaches us that we should not get attached with
the world.

Angels present themselves to humans Hebrews 13:1,2

Demon possession
Only God can relieve demon possession: The demoniac illustrated in Mark 5 and Luke 8

 Luke 10:21
• In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee,
O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid
these things from the wise and prudent (educated), and
hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it
seemed good in thy sight.
• Commentary
o interesting because I may reason that education will make me
smarter but this is true only up to a point and only if God allows me to
find what I seek to learn. What is the solution for those that wish to
become educated?
 Proverbs 10:8
• The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a
prating fool shall fall.
 Proverbs 14:6
• A wise [man] feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth,
and is confident.
 1 Corinthians 3:18
• Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be
wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
 Proverbs 26:5,12

cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no
variableness, neither shadow of turning.
• James 1:5
o If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to
all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given
him.
o Commentary
 He who made the world also made your brain. He can give you the grades,
and cause you to do well on your job if you put Him first. Again, He made
you...
• Psalms 139:13-15
o 13
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast
covered me in my mother's womb.14I will praise
thee (give thanks, confess); for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and
that my soul knoweth right well. 15My substance
(skeleton) was not hid from thee, when I was made
in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts
of the earth.
• 1 Corinthians 3:16,17
• 16Know ye not that ye are the temple [sanctuary or cell
(structural and functional unit of all organisms) of the

shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which
temple ye are.
o Commentary
 so how should we conduct ourselves knowing the above?
• 1 Corinthians 6:19,20
• 19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye
are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's.
• Hebrews 12
• 1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so
great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run
with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto
Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of
God.
• Philippians 3:12-1412
• Not as though I had already attained, either were already
perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for
which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13Brethren, I
count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing
I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14I
press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus.
• Daniel 1
o Consistency, intensity, and duration.
o Commentary
 Action is a law of our being. Every organ of the body has its
appointed work, upon the performance of which its
development and strength depend. The normal action of all the
organs gives strength and vigor, while the tendency of disuse is
toward decay and death. Bind up an arm, even for a few weeks,
then free it from its bands, and you will see that it is weaker
than the one you have been using moderately during the same
time. Inactivity produces the same effect upon the whole
muscular system.”—Ellen G. White, The Ministry of Healing

Spiritual Exercise
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye
may obtain. 25And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do
it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26I therefore so run, not as uncertainly;
so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27But I keep under my body, and bring it into
subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a
castaway.

Ephesians 2:8

8
For by grace (unmerited favor/power to keep command) are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

2 Timothy 4:7
7
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

2 Timothy 2:3-5
3
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4No man that warreth
entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be
a soldier. 5And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Hebrews 11
6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he
is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Isaiah 40:31
31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as
eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Exercising Faith

Hebrews 12
24
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when
Jesus came. 25The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen
the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print
of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my
hand into his side, I will not believe.
26
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with
them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and
said, Peace be unto you. 27Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy
finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into
my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28And Thomas answered and
said unto him, My LORD and my God. 29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas,
because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have
not seen, and yet have believed.

John 20:24 "Doubting Thomas" believed because he saw. But blessed are
those who believe without seeing.
