Pointers for TCS Interview
Aptitude Test Round
Practice TCS sample papers before appearing for the Aptitude test.
Take proper rest before the exam or interview day.
Technical Interview Round
30-40% of candidates personality is judged by the way he/she enters the interview hall. So
thumb rule here is as follows:
Seek permission before you enter the hall and walk briskly.
Greet the Interviewer in firm voice (dont be loud).
Should be well dressed, preferably formal wear (Male Shirt-Trouser ; Female- Suit,
Shirt-Trouser)
Sit smartly facing the interviewer with hands on the lap and document file on the
table.
Resume should be short and crisp. Do not write too much in it.
Be In line and well versed with your Resume.
Be very fluent when asked Tell me about yourself.
It should have description about yourself, family and native place
Example: My name is XYZ; I belong to so n so place; I am currently pursuing B.Tech in ABC
specialization. I have completed my 10th and 12th class with excellent academic records (if
person is confident), awarded with scholarship/awards in sports (if any). A small description
of your family background. One should mention about his aspirations why you want to join IT
company with his abilities.
If you do not have good command over English then try to do rehearse before the Interview. Its
natural to be nervous, so do a lot of mock interview practice in front of the mirror.
Be prepared and confident about the Projects that you have done in your engineering.
Sound Confident, if you are sure about anything.
Be honest if you do not know anything.
Do not argue with the Interviewer on anything. If you think the Interviewer is saying anything
wrong then just listen to it. Once he/she is finished then put your point very politely.
Be little prepared about the background of the Company, basic knowledge of TCS (CEO,
Revenue, year when it was started, scope of work, etc.)
Be prepared for writing small but logical C programs.
Candidate should have sound knowledge of the subjects in which they are specializing.
Must know the names of the Subjects of at least Last semester. It would be great if you know the
names of all the 4 years subjects.
HR/Managerial Round
Basically the intent of this round is to judge the potential of the candidate to perform smartly in the
organization.
Be confident and believe in yourself.
Questions related to your hobbies can be fired on you. Be prepared to explain any one of your
hobbies.
Be prepared for any logical or aptitude related puzzles/Questions.
Some real time scenarios can be given to you and interviewer here observes your reaction how
you react in that situation. (You should not panic --- think for 1- 2 minutes on the scenario and try
to answer. Never say No in such questions.)
They might ask you for Relocation and working in 24X7 support projects. Just say yes for all the
conditions.
Be little prepared about the background of the Company, basic knowledge of TCS (CEO,
Revenue, year when it was started, scope of work, etc.)
Must highlight extra Curricular activities which you have participated or organized. This
highlights your social skills and qualities of managing things.
Must be well versed with current affairs.
When asked Where you see yourself after 5 years: Your answer must be somewhat saying a
successful career within TCS. This will build a trust in the mind of interviewer that you will remain
engaged with the company.
