PROPOSED CHANGE TO THE CONSTITUTION
At the last regular Church Conference, December 23, 2015, a
motion was made by the Pastor Search Committee to make an
amendment to the constitution concerning Article III that says First
Baptist Church still supports the Baptist Faith & Message 1963.
The Southern Baptist Convention, Georgia Baptist Convention and
the Bowen Baptist Association all support the Baptist Faith &
Message 2000.
There will be a called business meeting on February 7th for the sole
purpose of making the motion that we amend the constitution,
Article III, to say Baptist Faith and Message 2000 in place of
Baptist Faith and Message 1963.
BIBLE STUDY OFFERED
A Bible study will be conducted on the book of Daniel by Dr. David
Jeremiah. The study titled The Agents of Babylon. will be in the
same format as the one last fall by Dr. Jeremiah and an excellent
follow up to the one on Revelations, The Agents of the
Apocalypse, as he explains the prophecies of Daniel and what they
tell us about the End of Days. As noted in the website for Dr.
Jeremiah, the prophecy is clear, Babylon is ascending, and Daniels
dreams contain the clues to weathering the nightmare that is yet to
come. The study will again be offered in two sessions on
Thursdays at 10:00AM in the Choir Room and at 6:30PM in the
Youth Building. A study guide will be provided if you desire, for
$10 but is not required to take the course. The first sessions begin
on Thursday, February 11. This will be a very timely and
informative study, amazingly paralleling our own current times.
Please sign up by calling the church office. Questions may be
directed to Ron Gilliard.

CHANCEL CHOIR SEEKS WORSHIP LEADERS
Come, be a part of the Chancel Choir, as we lead our family in
choral worship each week. We also look forward to sharing a
wonderful time of worship on Sunday night, March 20. The
musical To the Risen King will be shared in the 6:30 PM
worship time. Rehearsals begin at 7:45 each Wednesday night
and practice CDs are free and available to all singers.
FELLOWSHIP CLUB
Seniors, join with us at noon, next Monday, February 1, as we
have our monthly Fellowship Club gathering. One of our all
time favorites: Rev. Lynn Roberts, returns to sing, play guitar
and entertain us as only he can do. His down home wit and
humor has been a blessing to us each time he comes. Bring
your covered dish and start your February out right!
HANDBELL CHOIR
Join our handbell choir at 3 PM, on Saturday, February 20th,
in the Fellowship Hall of the Cairo First United Methodist
Church, as they conclude a handbell Festival with a concert of
the music they have learned. The concert will be about 30
minutes long and features choirs from Thomasville,
Tallahassee, Cairo and Bainbridge.
The Pastor Search Committee, recommends the following
change to the Constitution of First Baptist Church, Bainbridge:
The adoption of the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) as the
Statement of Faith for First Baptist Church, Bainbridge.
Making this change will put us in line with groups with whom
we, as Baptists, choose to align ourselves with, doctrinally.
There will be a special called Business Meetings, held at the
conclusion of the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Worship services on
Sunday, February 7, for the vote on this proposed change.
