Back Numbers will be supplied on the day and must be worn for all phases of the competition. Numbers
must be returned before leaving the competition.

ENTRY FEES:

Pony Club Grades 1 to 5 - $40


Open Grades 1 to 4 (there is no open Grade 5) - $50 Plus $10 Day
attendance fee for riders without specified insurance see below.
Pony Club Grade 5 only Combined Training - $35 this is open to
Pony Club riders who are graded grade 5 for CT only.

Camping - $10 per site per night, to be paid with entry. No powered sites.
Horse Yards - $15 per yard yards are limited, to be paid with entry
Prizes: Horse Trials Pony Club Embroidered Rug for 1st Place and Sashes to 6th
Horse Trials Open Prize for 1st Place and Sashes to 4th
Grade 5 PC Combined Training Prize for 1st Place and Sashes to 6th.
Mini Event $20
Times: All Dressage will be held on Saturday and will not commence before 11.00 am.
All Cross Country and Show Jumping will be held on Sunday.
Cross Country course will be open for inspection from 3pm Saturday 27th February.

Open Riders please note:


All participants in an Open Competition, Including Pony Club Members, must sign and
provide a copy of the attached Liability Declaration Form and Day Participant Waiver (if
applicable).
Participants do not need to pay $10/day or fill in the Day Participant Waiver, if they are
a current member of:
PCAV, HRCAV, EA/EV, Interstate Pony Club, AHSA, AERA, SHCA or can provide proof that
they are covered by Personal Liability Insurance Cover of at least $10,000,000 however
proof of current membership is required, copy can be sent with entry or presented at the
secretarys office prior to competing.

Cross Country Judges
Each Club MUST provide one cross country judge for the first ride
and then one every three riders or part thereof entered.
Individual entries must supply one cross country judge

Conditions of Entry
Entry is conditional upon acceptance of these conditions.

1. Entering this competition constitutes acknowledgement that PCAV rules apply and acceptance of
these rules.
2. The organizing committee reserves the right to cancel any class or competition; divide any class;
alter times; refuse any entry with or without stating the reason.
3. No refunds after closing date except with vet or medical certificate. An administration fee of $10 will
be deducted.
4. Current PCAV, EA/EV, AHSA, AERA, HRCAV, or SHCA Membership Card. Cards must be
presented to the Secretaries Office before riding. No Card, No Ride.
5. All Open competitors must sign a Liability Declaration form and Day Participant Waiver if applicable
and return with entry.
6. All riders must present to gear check before competing in each phase. PCAV Gear Rules 2016
7. Medical armbands are compulsory will be inspected at gear check to ensure compliance and are
required by all riders, no medical armband no ride.
8. Correct standards numbered helmet must be worn as specified in PCAV Gear Rules 2016. As of 1
January 2016, EN1384 standard helmets manufactured in 2016 will not be approved for use. Spot
checks may occur and incorrect helmet will mean elimination. Refer to PCAV website EN1384

9. Competitor numbers Back numbers will be supplied, are to be worn for all phases and to be
returned to the clubrooms before leaving the competition.
10. Pony club riders to wear full pony club uniform. Open riders may wear HRCAV uniform, pony club
uniform, formal riding attire or neat polo/rugby style top or jacket. Jodhpurs or moleskins must be
worn and in the colour of banana, beige, white or fawn. As per PCAV Uniform rules.
11. Competitors may ride a maximum of two horses. One horse, one rider. The committee of
management of the event have the sole discretion to decide the number of entries accepted.
Entries will be limited 200 for the event.
12. Any rider under eight years of age may not compete in horse trials.
13. Horses must be at least age four, no stallions, colts or rigs.
14. PCAV Alcohol Policy applies.
15. Lunging is not permitted and will result in elimination.
16. Dogs and pets are prohibited and will result in the elimination of the competitor. This is
inclusive of those supporters who bring dogs or pets, competitors will be eliminated by
association.
17. Queries, protests, horse abuse, rules are per PCAV Handbook of By-Laws 2016.
18. Neither the organizing committee of this event, Kergunyah Pony Club nor the PCAV accept any
responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses or riders, ground
spectators or any other persons or property. Kergunyah Pony Club Inc. Registered Association: No

19. Camping will be available in designated areas at $10.00 per night/per family and must be paid with
entry form. This is collected on behalf of the Sandy Creek Reserve. NO powered sites available.
20. Yards are limited, at $15.00 and must be booked and paid for with the entry form.
PCAV By Laws rules 2016
a. Stabling and yards should be of solid construction.
b. The use of electrified tape, strings, ropes or chains, is not permitted at Pony Club
Event
c. Electric tape can be used as a top line or as a "standoff" on a steel or solid yard, but not as a
standalone yard.
21. Each Club MUST provide one cross country judge for the first ride and then one every three
riders or part thereof entered.

DAY PARTICIPANT WAIVER 2015-2016


Participants in events organised by PCAV Clubs, who are not current financial members of a PCAV Club, or who do not have any
other approved insurance in place, upon completion of this form are deemed to be Day Participants of the event.
Protection is afforded to the Day Participant under the PCAV Public Liability policy, only whilst participating in activities organised
and/or run by the PCAV Club at that event, where they are liable for causing bodily injury or property damage to others, excluding
whilst travelling to and from such event.
By signing this form, you agree to abide by the Rules & Conditions of the PCAV and any Rules of the event.
For every Entrant who does NOT have a current and proven Public Liability insurance to the minimum of $10,000.00 a payment is
due of $10.00 per person per day (including GST), to cover the cost of participation with this Pony Club for each day of this event.
Horse Sports are a Dangerous Activity
I, the undersigned, in consideration for being permitted to participate in any way in horse sport activities and in particular this
event, acknowledge and accept that:
Horse sports are a dangerous recreational activity and horses can act in a sudden and unpredictable way, especially if frightened
or hurt.
There is a significant risk that serious injury or death may result from horse sport activities and in particular this event and freely
assume all such risks, even if arising from the negligence of PCAV and/or the event organiser / official.
I voluntarily participate at my own risk and assume sole responsibility for any injury, death or property damage I may suffer that
arises from my participation in horse sport activities.

I understand and acknowledge the dangers associated with the consumption of alcohol or any mind altering drugs before and
during the activity and I take full responsibility for any injury, loss or damage associated with their consumption.
I agree to follow the directions of any event organiser or official and that any misconduct or refusal by me to follow any direction
of any organiser or official can result in the cancellation of my participation in the event and my immediate removal from my
horse no matter where that may occur. I further agree to abide by the Rules and Conditions of this event and the official Rule
Book of the Pony Club Association of Victoria. I understand that any such non-compliance may result in injury, death and/or
permanent disability and I agree to indemnify PCAV against all claims made by any person as a result of my failure to comply.
I agree to wear a helmet at all times whilst riding and agree that I am solely responsible for ensuring that I wear a suitable helmet
at all times while riding and take sole responsibility for my actions.
I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, hereby release and hold harmless and
agree not to sue the proprietors of the Pony Club Association of Victoria and/or the event organiser, their officers, officials,
volunteers, coaches, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, state bodies, affiliated clubs
and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the activities (all of whom are referred to as Releasees) with
respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property, whether caused by the negligence of the
Releasees or otherwise.
Effect of this Document - I have had sufficient opportunity to read this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement, fully
understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and sign it freely and voluntarily without
inducement of any kind. I understand that my signature to this document constitutes a complete and unconditional release of all
liability of the Releasees, to the greatest extent allowed by law in the event of me and/or the children under my care, suffering
injury or death.
In consideration of your accepting my participation, I hereby undertake to indemnify the organising body against all claims, losses,
suits and damages made against or suffered by the organising body by reason of any negligent act or omission on the part of any
rider, driver, trainer or attendant whilst he/she is attending, riding, driving or otherwise handling any horse so entered or any
other horse owned or entered by me, and I agree that any act or omission on the part of such rider, driver, handler or attendant
found in any action against you to be negligent shall be deemed to have been negligent for the purpose of any claim under this
indemnity.
Further, I agree to abide by the Rules & Conditions and current Rule Book as laid down by the Pony Club Association of Victoria
and/or contained in any official event schedule and I also agree to abide by all of the Event Venue rules regarding use of their
centre and its facilities.
