COLUMBA CATHOLIC CHURCH

First Sunday of Advent

SAN DIEGO

Gift Baskets
The Men's club wants to thank everyone who donated food and money for the Thanksgiving basket
program. Because of your generosity, we were able
to provide 23 families with Thanksgiving baskets
which included a turkey, canned goods, potatoes
and a $25 gift card. THANK YOU!
We are now collecting non-perishable food for
Christmas baskets. If you know of anyone who can
use a basket for Christmas, please call the rectory
with the contact information.

Stop Assisted Suicide

Stop Assisted Suicide in CA before it is too late!
Earlier this year, through a special session, the
California legislature passed assisted suicide,
allowing doctors to prescribe overdose medication to terminally ill patients. Join a coalition
of physicians, nurses, and people of all faiths to
stand for the lives of our elderly and dying in
opposing assisted suicide. Registered voters
are being asked to sign a petition after Mass
this weekend.

Matthew 25 Giving Tree

We will once again have a Matthew 25 Giving Tree
in the church vestibule. Funds collected support Fr.
John Tastos parish and school in Tijuana, Mexico.
If you would like to donate, pick an envelope from
the tree, enclose cash or a check (made payable to
St. Columba), and place in the collection basket or
drop off at the rectory. DO NOT put the envelope
with your donation back on the tree! Thank you for
supporting this worthy program.
PLEASE PRAY for the following who are ill,
their families and those who care for them:
Walt Becker, Rodelia Clark, Robert & Louise Dennin, Jason George, Daniel Holland, David Hoover, Randa Matyas, Deb Oberg, Doris Oliver, Pat Oliver, Joanne & Rick
Schultheis, Marilyn Theile, Divina Villar, Sam Zanin

The Gift of Generosity

We thank everyone who has supported St. Columba this
past year with their time, talent, and financial contributions and look forward to your continued support in the
year ahead. If you need a convenient way to make regular offerings or if you plan to make an additional gift before the end of the year, we encourage you to look into
our electronic giving options. As the pace of life speeds
up, especially around the holidays, you may find electronic giving a most welcome way to make contributions.
