Uganda Xaveri Movement celebrated its fifty years jubilee
The Golden Jubilee celebrations took place from 14th to 16th August 2009 at

band, Xaverians marched through the local towns and attracted many more youngsters
who joined in the celebrations.

Various activities offered everyone an interesting way of spending time with other
eRko leaders and encouragement for their volunteer work. Saturday was a bit a
European day because of the visit by and discussion with our Slovak EU commissioner
Ján Figeľ. He inspired us with his thoughts and experience about Slovaks in Europe,
European Christian heritage and young Christians and encouraged us to be a light in
the new century.

World Camp and had prepared many dances and games. Later there was a spiritual
program followed by the main ceremonial holy mass with our bishop. But the most
expected part was still to come, a real eRko ball with eRko dances and a lot of fun!
On Monday, at the end of our encounter, the chairman of eRko Juraj Králik invited us to
the celebration of eRko’s 20th birthday next year. Catchy tunes of the anthem for this
occasion resonated in the air for the last time: «Living God, wo-o-o…» And we all hope
to meet again next year.

‘1 New Friend Request’…
… is a phrase that has become quite popular
nowadays. It is not used when we talk to
people but we often find it as a link when we
log onto Facebook, Myspace or other social
networks. The majority of internet users,
especially youths, are registered to one or more
social networks. This makes it easier for two
persons to get in touch with one another just by
entering name, surname, and maybe place.
