DESIGN PROBLEM
STAGE 1
As an architecture student you have been engaged in some architectural design projects.
Commonly an architectural form is the result of arrangement of functions and giving then an
envelope.
In contrary of above Exercise is to develop a FORM in group of students which can
further be evolved into spatial arrangement. Form can be abstract, geometrically
composed, inspired or through your experiences of life.
Requirements Model (any material), Sketches/Drawings/Views to explain various
stages of Form evolution.

STAGE 2
Develop and represent individually a Form or group of Forms which should be a
progressive derivation of the initial form which you had evolved in groups. Provide the
origin of your form and how are you envisioning your form as an architectural entity
(building or group of buildings)
Architectural project for each student will be any one of the following:
1. College of Fine Arts
2. Tourist Interpretation Centre
3. Museum of Modern Art
This stage includes your preliminary design of corresponding building which you have
to accommodate and incorporate in your evolved form.
Requirements: Sketch design should include Basic functional arrangement, Hierarchy of
different spaces in plans and sections. Minimum one critical SECTION is
COMPULSORY which helps in understanding your form and designed building.

STAGE 3 (FINAL STAGE)


Complete set of presentation drawings with a detailed model (at a suitable scale) of the
building designed with respect to the conceived form by you in previous stages.
Drawings should include Floor plans at different levels (including basement and roof plan),
Sections, Elevations, 3D views.
This stage will also be evaluated according to your process and final outcome of
transformation from a FORM to an ARCHITECTURAL BUILDING.
