A great transformation is taking place in the halls, rooms

and fellowship hall of the church. We are moving from the routine
to the exciting as we see Vacation Bible School decorations coming
alive all around us. I am excited that next week is VBS week at
First Baptist and the excitement is spreading as we see workers
coming together to decorate, make final plans and implement VBS.
Take the time to look over the building this Sunday and then join us
for the VBS kickoff Celebration Sunday evening.
I am looking ahead to our high attendance day and Kickoff
for the new church year. The church council has suggested that we
move the event to the last Sunday in August. On, Sunday, July 5,
each class will receive their average attendance for the first six
months of this church year. We will ask each class then to set their
high attendance goal based on that number. The class that receives
coveted award, will be the class that has the highest percentage
increase over their average attendance. We will still have the
Tailgate theme with some changes that will be announced a little
later.
Make this Sunday a high attendance day with your presence
in Sunday School and worship. I look forward to seeing you then.
Paul

VBS Rooms
Please be understanding on June 14 as many of the Sunday School
rooms will be decorated for Vacation Bible School. This will also be a
great reminder to pray for VBS which will start that evening and run
through Wednesday, June 17.
VBS Help
You might not be able to help each night with VBS, but maybe you
could help with counting change. We would like to have some
volunteers at 10:00 Monday-Thursday mornings to help count the
change that is collected each night. If you are willing to help any of
these mornings, please see Stacey or call the church office to volunteer.

MIGRANT MINISTRY

PRAY for VBS!

Thanks to all who have helped with the Migrant Ministry this year. Many of you have:
Donated clothing, made cash contributions, sorted and
carried clothes to the mission sites, handed out Gideon
Bibles, fed Emory and Mercer University medical students and Georgia Baptist Dental Team members, fed and
welcomed translators and countless other unseen but effective ministries. As of Wednesday afternoon, the teams
have seen approximately 400 migrants and given them
physical and spiritual care. God bless you for serving.

Please be in prayer for the children, volunteers and parents

participating in VBS. Pray for safety, wisdom, and softened hearts for
the Holy Spirit to move in us all. THANK YOU!

SAINTS ALIVE TO SHARE

funds for the Georgia Baptist Children's Home. Nightly winners will be
determined by weight. The team that wins the most nights will win overall.
In the event of a tie, the total amount of money raised by each team will break
it. If the boys win, Ms. Stacey will be turned into a human hot dog and be
covered in mustard and ketchup. If the girls win, Mr. Jeff will have that
honor. Start bringing your offering on Sunday night, June 14!

Thanks for a great morning of service and ministry as you

shared at Riverside Place and Bainbridge Healthcare last
Monday. My spirit was stirred as one of the residents
shouted Thank You, Jesus! at the conclusion of one of
our songs. We are blessed to be a blessing.
We will meet at 9:15 AM Monday, June 15 at WILLOWRIDGE, 801 Faceville Road. I will bring our books
and music. After singing at WILLOW RIDGE, we will
travel to THE MANOR AT BAINBRIDGE MEDICAL
CENTER, and share with the residents there. Lunch to
follow.

PATRIOTIC MUSICAL AT FBC

Our Chancel Choir and Saints Alive Choir are joining forces
with the choir from Morningside Baptist Church to share the
patriotic musical AMERICA, of Thee I Sing!. Mark the date
of Wednesday, July 1 as the time when this rousing, flagwaving music will be presented in our Sanctuary. Invite
friends and neighbors to join us at 7:00 p.m. that evening!

There will not be two more important weeks in the life of

the Children and Student ministry than the next two
weeks. These very next couple of weeks have the
potential to be monumental in the life of our church.
Next week VBS carries with it the opportunity to impact
kids in our community with the gospel of Jesus. We will
have the chance to reach more children in the next week
than we will during any point in the entire year. THINK
ABOUT THAT STATEMENT!!! And then pray for God
to use our VBS to have an eternal impact on the kids that
will be here.
The following week our students will be attending
summer camp in Millington, TN. During this week we
will have close to 60 teenagers spend 5 days in an
atmosphere that will place them in the presence of Jesus.
Please pray that those students attending camp will be
responsive and obedient to what the Spirit of God may
be calling them to do.
This is my favorite time of ministry. VBS and youth
camp. Two weeks that have potential to change the
world. Join with me in praying for our Children and
Student ministries, especially the next two weeks!!
