Event Details:
AIMS: Atelier IBA Marketing Summit is a three-day national event being organised
by the IBA Marketing Club this summer. The World of marketing is ever-evolving
and heavily based on innovation and creativity. Our aim is to equip the participants
with a multitude of skills so that they can not only cope, but excel in the real world.
There will be two main segments: a simulation based competition for the students;
and a discussion based interactive workshop for the professionals.
For the Students:
The participants will compete in teams of five, simulating a marketing department
to vie in a variety of tasks and challenges. These rounds will be based on multiple
marketing concepts and tools such as market research, product development,
promotions, and crisis management. The event is designed to expose the
participants to the world of marketing in a very practical way. In addition to the
competitions, participants will also learn from our esteemed guests who will be
speaking on some very interesting topics.
For the Professionals:
AIMS will also provide a forum for the marketing professionals to come together and
discuss the various issues of the field. There will be speaker sessions conducted by
senior marketing executives and renowned academics to provide a theoretical basis
and a chance to learn from their vast experience. There will also be panel
discussions and debates to keep things lively and interactive.
AIMS will be held at the IBA Main Campus from June 12 to 14, 2015. The
registration fee for students is PKR 2000/- and PKR 4000/- for the professionals.

Social Events:
The three days have been designed to give you a practical understanding of the
marketing world. While it will not be entirely theoretical and will contain a lot of fun
and interesting activities, it will still be quite tiring. So, in order to provide you all
with some relief before the next day and to give you a chance to interact with other
participants and build networks in a stress free environment, we have planned three
social events at the end of each day.
Day one will end with a Masquerade Ball. The second day will have a concert. The
third day will be the Closing Ceremony where the winners will be announced and
awards given out. There will also be an astonishing musical performance followed
by a dinner.
Job Description:
Simply put, your job is to act as our liaison and market the event in your circles.
Start with sharing the material posted on our Facebook page on your walls. You can
tag your friends who may be interested in the various posts, and you can also post
some relevant ones in your school groups. Another important thing is word of
mouth. Talk to your siblings, cousins, and friends and tell them about the event.
You should ideally know all the details about the event so you can make a
customized pitch according to the person you address.
Another significant thing is to talk to your school admin. Ask them to place the
event posters/standees on the campus. Brief them about the event and encourage
them to send official teams from the school. You can also get us in touch with them
for this, or if they have any questions. It would be great if you can get the event
details featured on your schools facebook and website, and send out a detailed
email (attached below) to all the students and faculty.
In addition, you are more than welcome to branch out and come up with new ideas.
The point of appointing BAs is to have a diversified marketing team with people who
are familiar with their target groups. So, you know your circle and your school best,
which will help you in your approach. At the end of the day, your task is to get as
many registrations as possible.
Perks & Benefits:
Firstly, all the people who are active and actually working will get a certificate
recognising them as AIMS BA. This counts as your extra-curricular activity and all
reputed schools look at this part of your school life for admissions. You are getting a
chance to work for a National Event, and thus you have the opportunity to learn a
lot if you so choose. Your interaction with each other, our team, and the various
people you brief about the event will help you develop your interpersonal skills.
BAs who successfully bring in teams will be invited for the closing ceremony. They
will get event merchandise on bringing one/two teams, and will get free entry if
they bring at least three teams. For this, make sure that the teams you register do
not forget to mention your name in the reference section when they fill the
registration form.
Marketing Plan:
Our marketing plan basically comprises of three main segments:
\Out-station Marketing: Our team visited the major cities of Sindh and Punjab last
month to invite the various schools for the event. We are currently also in contact
with various people from the admin and student body for regular follow-ups. If you
have any friends studying outside of Karachi, kindly get in touch with them as well.
\External Marketing: This consists of all marketing outside of the IBA Campus. We
are conducting campus drives throughout the city and contacting schools via e-mail
and phone. Secondly, we have the BAs who are helping us out. In addition, we are
in the process of having our flyers put up in various cafes and outlets around the
city. If you know someone who can help with this part, kindly let us know asap.
Social Media: Facebook has become a very good platform for promotions, so we are
focusing on that. Event details and registration reminders are periodically posted,
along with some marketing related material. Currently we are running a strategy
competition, and soon we will start revealing the guests and social events. A short
video about the event will also be posted soon.

The IBA Marketing Club (IMC) is proud to announce that it will be hosting the second
edition of AIMS this June. IMC is amongst the biggest award-winning Clubs at IBA
Karachi and has always been the pioneer in introducing ground-breaking events.
AIMS is a national conference that will take place from June 12-14 at the IBA Main
Campus. This year, we have collaborated with the International Institute of
Marketing Professionals and the Marketing Circle to ensure the quality of the rounds.

This event will not only give the participants a forum to learn about marketing, but
will also be a platform for them to develop their soft skills. We have invited
remarkable people like Mr Faisal Sabswari (Vice President of Procter & Gamble), Mr
Parvez Ghias (CEO of Indus Motor Company), Mr Sultan Lakhani (Co-owner of the
Lakson Group and CEO of Century Publications), among others, to impart their
experience and knowledge to our participants.
In addition, there will also be social events in the evenings so that the participants
can relax from the rigorous days and build their network in a stress-free
environment.
It is with great pleasure that we invite your institution for the event. We would also
like to visit your campus to conduct a brief information session for the students and
answer any questions that they might have. We would really appreciate if you could
