SiriFort,thethirdcityofDelhi,wasbuiltatthebeginningofthe
14thcenturyCEbythesecondsultanoftheTurkoAfghanKhilji
dynastyAlauddinKhilji.NearbyHauzKhaswasbuiltasalarge
waterreservoirforthiscity.ProbablywhenSiriFortwasabandoned
later,JatsfromwhatisnowHaryanashiftedtotheShahpurJatarea,
beingattractedtothefertilelands.[1]
