One of those clubs is FBLA,

which he has participated in
for the past four years. This
year, he did an outstanding
job, placing in the top spots
in all the contests that he
participated in and is now
state bound! Besides FBLA,
Evan has also took part in
band for four years, also
playing the cornet. On top of
those activities, he has also
been in choir and theater for
three years and FCCLA for
one year.
As you can see, Evan
is a pretty busy guy and
is always on the go, so it
shouldnt surprise you that
he is also a very hard worker when it comes to his jobs.
For those who may not know,
Evan works at our local Pizza Hut. He has worked there
for the past two years and
will continue working there.
He has also taken the job as
our schools very own computer
technical
assistant
and couldnt be happier.
When it comes to Evans
hobbies, they are narrowed
down to two things, computers and cars. He enjoys
working on computers and
trying to find solutions to
their problems, along with
building them. One can say
hes a great problem solver
because he also likes fixing cars. Other hobbies include watching an episode
or two of Doctor Who. For
those who havent seen it,
Evan recommends it because theres never a dull
moment on the show and
its also very science fictiony.
Besides TV shows, he does
like listening to music, any
kind except country and rap.
One of his favorite artists
includes Braking Benjamin.
Since we are talking about
entertainment, I had to ask
about his favorite movies.
With a big smile he told me
that Phantom of the Opera
is his favorite movie, but
the movie Up comes close
as they are both so good. I
also asked about his favorite food which turned out to
be a loaded question since
food overall is so good. So he
simply said that he enjoys
eating Mexican, Italian, and
Chinese and as far as his

favorite dish goes it would

have to be beef and noodles.
On another favorite note,
his favorite school subject is
English because he likes the
literature aspect of it along
with looking at grammar.
Looking back at the last
four years, Evan said his
best high school memory
would be going to state all
four years in FBLA. Along
with memorable moments,
he also has had embarrassing moments like the one
instance that he fell up the
stairs in 7th grade.
Evan plans to start this
June at ITT Tech to study
network system administration. He hopes then to work
in a school or as a system
administrator in a company.

Life is like a box

of chocolates

By Kat DeRosier
Change has always been a
part of our lives. Whether it
is good change or not, it has

always been there. There

is no avoiding it either, if
things are meant to be different change is inevitable.
Remember in kindergarten when snack and nap
time were required and now
they are in fact frowned
upon and not a requirement?
Now, our requirements are
algebra, foreign languages,
and college classes. Take a
look at our world now. We
rely on technology more
than we ever have, fashion
has changed dramatically,
and the way people think
about things has changed,
too. Throughout our lives,
we have had changes we
didnt like, but we have accepted them and moved on
and the world didnt end like
we thought it would.
As a senior, I am preparing
myself for some big changes
coming up, along with all
my fellow classmates. With
so little time left there is so
much yet to do! Watching all
of us receive our caps and
gowns, it finally dawned on
me that this is it. There is no
next volleyball season, football season, musical, FCCLA
Star Events, FBLA contest,

music
districts,
whatever
it is, high school is coming to an end. I know most
of us seniors are cheering
and ready to take this next
step of life head on, but that
doesnt mean we will forget
all the memories we have
made in high school. They
have helped us get to where
we are now.
Figuring out where to go
to college or even if that is
the best choice is a big decision. We will change our
minds over and over before
we make a final confirmation. Some may struggle with
this for a while! In college or
the workplace, changes are
still going to come.
Our world could become
confusing with all the opportunities and choices available to us. Knowing what
the best decisions are will be
difficult. The good and bad is
out there in the world and
its up to us to decide whats
right and what will benefit
us in the long run. We have
made various choices and
decisions on our path to this
bridge in our life. We often
made them based on our
family morals, personal feelings or societal influences,
regardless,
those
choices
and changes we have made
have molded us into who we
are today. Hopefully, we will
focus on those things that
went well or at best, lessons
we have learned, to help us
with all the new changes we
will face in our next journey.

All of this can be very stressful and hard to process, but

we must keep zooming on
towards graduation and this
next step in our life! I think
it is best summed up with
these wise words, life is like
a box of chocolates, you never know what youre gonna
get!
Change happens whether
you like it or not, but there
are usually good reasons
behind it. Life can become
difficult and stressful; you
just have to be brave and
push through. Change can
be good or bad, its what you
do with it that matters.
