Do you smile? Do you consider yourself friendly?

Are you
regular in your Sunday School and morning worship attendance? I
ask these questions because if you said yes to one or more then you
can qualify to be a Greeter on Sunday Mornings. Greeters for
Sunday School can be any age, male or female, singles or couples.
This ministry is often overlooked but greatly needed. A greeter can
make someones morning with a simple smile or
acknowledgement. A greeter is often the first person a visitor or
prospect meets and gives the first impression of the church. If you
feel called to be a greeter then contact me, Lewis Jones or Jerry
Pollock. We have a place for you!
Several events are scheduled for the days ahead at First
Baptist that you wont want to miss. The weekend of February 1315 will be the D-Now weekend for our youth. This is the biggest
evangelistic thrust our youth are involved in. On Sunday Morning
the 15th we will have a combined worship service at 11 AM to
celebrate D-Now. I look forward to seeing all of our youth, youth
leaders, host home parents, and volunteers together on that morning.
It will be an exciting time!
Then on Sunday evening of the 15th we will host one of
Bainbridges own local mission projects. The childrens choir from
the Friendship House of Jesus will be with us. Many years ago a
vision was cast and a group of local folks, including many from
First Baptist, and the Friendship House of Jesus begun. Through the
years First Baptist has supported this mission financially, physically
and prayerfully. It will be a joy to hear the testimonies of the
children and the reports of the staff.
I look forward to what God is going to do this Sunday and
every Sunday at His church. Join with me as we worship together.

LISTENING AIDS
The AV Committee has discovered an effective, low-cost solution to those who require additional amplification of the
sounds. We have purchased and installed FM radio transmitters in the Worship Center, Youth Building and Fellowship
Hall which will broadcast events on the FM band of 91.1. A
small FM receiver and earphones or a headphone is all that is
required. Those receiving this signal are able to adjust the volume to fit your own personal needs. Check with a member of
the AV team if you need more information.
SAINTS ALIVE CHOIR
The Saints Alive Choir will be joining the Chancel Choir in
the morning service this Sunday. Join us at 10:40 PM in the
Choir Room as we warm up to share His Love Medley. No
robes, just church clothes. Thanks for singing last Sunday
night. You were 38% of the congregation!
CHILDREN TO SING
Join us Feb. 11th, at the 7 PM Prayer Meeting time to hear our
Music Makers and Young Musicians Choirs share some
special singing. You will be blessed.
HANDBELLS
We have a vacancy in the roster of ringers in our Handbell
Choir. If you are a music reader, youre already on your way
to being a qualified bell ringer. We are working on music to
be shared at the Winter Ring, a festival which will be held at
the First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge the weekend
of February 20-21. The festival concludes with a concert that
is open to the public that Saturday afternoon, February 21.
FELLOWSHIP CLUB MET
We had a great attendance to hear Rev. Lynn Roberts share
another great Valentines themed gathering for our SENIORS!
Join us on Monday, March 2nd as Jean Watson inspires us
with a report and photos of her recent trip to Israel. Bring a
friend.

Clean Up Day!
Join us as we clean up the Preschool Hallway on Saturday, February 7
beginning at 9 am. We will disinfect toys, scrub down tables, chair
and play areas and create an inventory of new items needed. Hope to
see you there!

AWANA is collecting TRAVEL ITEMS

The AWANAs are collecting travel size toiletry items for the Baptist
Friendship House in New Orleans, LA. Please drop any donation off
at the church office. We will collect until mid-February.

Easter Egg Hunt

Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 21! We have plenty of eggs
from last year but are in need of candy. Please drop individually
packaged candy off in front of the church office. If you are able to
help stuff eggs, please let me know. Thanks!

Thank you, Alvesta!

Our faithful nursery worker, Alvesta, has decided January is her last
month with us. We will recognize her dedication to the children of
FBC on Sunday, February 8 during the 11 am service. If you would
like to write a note of encouragement or thankfulness to her, please do
so and drop it by the office before or on Friday, February 5.

CPR Training
If you are interested in a class to be CPR certified for adults, children
and infants, please contact the church office by February 11. Once we
have a list of participants, a date will be determined. Cost estimate
will be $10/person.

Friday Night Game Night

This Friday February 6th we will have a game night. This is a
time for our students to just come, eat, and hang out together.
There is really no schedule or plan so come and spend Friday
night with us. We will meet at 6:00 and be finished about
9:00.
DNOW Weekend.
As of right now we have 85 students signed up for Disciple
Now weekend. I am so pumped about this weekend. We have
a great line up of speaker and band to lead us in our worship
rallies as well as a great group of college students coming to
lead our small group bible studies.
There is a place for you to serve during DNOW. Just let
myself or a member of the Youth Committee know and we
can put you to work.
Please remember that Sunday the 15th we will have one
combined worship service at 11:00 to finish off the weekend.
There is a parent meeting this Sunday following the 11:00
service in the youth building concerning DNOW. Lunch is
pot luck so bring a dish. Also, host homes will meet at 4:00 in
the youth building.

EARLY Session Starts in March

Thank you to everyone who has decided to switch from Extended
Session to Early Session. We will begin our Early Session rotation
and NEW Extended Session Rotation on Sunday, March 1.
