Anuban Weekly Outline

This week we are learning:
Circle Time Review
In circle time I have been helping the
students to practise verbally with the
vocabulary and grammar we have been
reviewing in activity time. I will continue to
use games like the memory game as a
sentence and vocabulary builder, and
hangman to review spelling. I will push the
students not only to recognise and repeat
the words but to use them in proper
sentences and with grammatical accuracy.

Preparation for the Scholarship

Exam
Activity Time

This week I will continue helping the students to prepare for the scholarship
exam they will be sitting on the 19th of January. The scholarship exam is in
preparation for Prathom 1, and allows us to judge the students' general English
level before they start their Prathom studies. We would like the students to have
as good a chance as possible on this test, so we have prepared a study booklet
covering the subjects listed below and will be working through it with all
students.
I have been incorporating grammar studies in with the vocabulary that we have
been revising, and will continue to do so this week. The students will be learning
to differentiate between is/are, this/these, and using full sentences to express
their replies.

P1 Preparation
(T. Mike)
Grammar
This week in English Grammar we will be
focusing on adjectives. We will review the
adjectives we covered last week and then
we will do an exercise where the students
match the correct picture to the word and
also practice handwriting. When this is
completed they will do a similar exercise
but this time some of the letters are
missing and I will ask them to see if they
can completed the match and spelling
without referring back to the previous
exercise. This is good for spelling and
understanding. We will use the grammar
points what is he/she he/she is to
discuss adjectives in full sentences.

Prep the students to a high vocabulary level on the following subjects:

- School objects
- Colours
- Shapes
- Plurals
- Family
- Body Parts
Students will be expected to answer to a Prathom 1 level and communicate in
full sentences.

Science
This week in science we will be
continuing to look at animals and we will
review movement and habitat from last
week. We are going to move onto animal
body and discuss how this helps the
animal to survive and to move around.
We are then going to do some exercises
where we classify animals in terms of
their body parts, e.g. list animals that
have legs and animals that have wings.
We will do a practical experiment where
we will cut out pictures of animals and
paste them onto a board under headings
of different body parts.
