Structural Steel Design Summary Report

This document provides the input data and design summary for an 8-bolted stiffened end plate connection between a W14x211 column and W21x62 beam based on various steel design codes. The connection is designed to transmit an axial load of 800 kips in the column and a factored gravity load of 4.2 klf on the beam over a 30 ft span. All design checks related to local buckling, bending and shear are shown to be satisfactory based on the specified 1-5/8 inch thick plate, 1-5/8 inch diameter bolts, and 7/16 inch fillet welds.
