First Baptist Church has an almost 160

year history of worshiping and serving.
Our various ministries are busy with the
tasks at hand, but at this time of year
plans are underway for 2015. Your financial support is an important part of
the planning as we go forward. The finance ministry has mailed a letter with a pledge card along with
your record of contributions through September, 2014. We ask
that you prayerfully consider your level of financial support for
ministries and general operations, and return your pledge by November 23 when we will be celebrating our annual Thanksgiving
dinner.
~Ann Havenor, Finance Ministry

Wednesday Evenings in December

On Wednesday, December 3, you are invited to attend a A Service of Hope. This will be a worship service for people
whose holiday season is a challenge because of personal loss, illness, struggles with grief, or loneliness. Church members,
family and friends from the community are welcome to share together in this important and meaningful time. We will
meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Sojourners Room, (Rm. 151)
On Wednesday, December 10, we will be celebrating this Advent season with at Taste and See experience together.
Please bring a dessert you connect to the holidays to share at our 6:00 p.m. meal. Bring a story about the dessert to share,
and bring your favorite holiday prayer or poem, as well. After a time of sharing, we can make holiday candles from a mandarin orange. At this event, an offering will be collected for the Ottawa University Angels and Elves Holiday Helping
Projects.

Upcoming Events for C2 Group

We will enjoy a holiday meal together after church on December 14. What kind of a holiday meal? Pizza, of course! It will
be a time to just hang out together before many of you go your separate ways until second semester. So, plan on going
now. The treats on us, FBC!
And we are trying something different. During the two weeks after Thanksgiving, the church will open its doors so students can come and study. On Mondays, Tuesdays and ThursdaysDecember 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 11some rooms at the
church will be waiting for your presence as you come to study for finals. Rooms will be open 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Snacks
and drinks will be available. Ask your friends, and plan to spend some quality study time at the church!
Notice to all church members: If you would be able to spend time (6-8 p.m., 8-10 p.m.) at the church on the above
dates, or if you could provide snacks, please let Cheryl know by November 26. ([email protected])
