-48VDC DELTA PSC3 SETTINGS
I have come across many problems with new Delta PSU which has
been swapped out and not done properly by the external
contractors. Tonight just called out to site with similar looking issues
which I like to share with you.
1. All the ones I managed to fix are due to the controller not been
commissioned properly or not commissioned at all! You need to
load the correct configuration files depending on the number of
battery strings installed; I have the files and procedure which I will
send out later. This will clear many of the alarms.
2. Set the correct number of rectifiers actually installed, this is
simply a matter of log in via your PC and change settings under the
Rectifier section and save config.
3. Many of you have come across this one whereby if you leave the
controller plugged in and fully commissioned the DC power is cut-of
completely too all the equipment connected. When you disconnect
the controller the power kicks in (a clunk is heard from the solenoid
which turns on the power). The reason for this is because the
solenoid wires are crossed from factory! Yes hard to believe in fact
true, come across 3 sites with this problem. Simply reverse these
two black wires on the solenoid and problem solved (see pics)
4. External alarm cables incorrectly connected or not even
connected at all, please see pic of how it should be connected and
redefine on Node B so that,

not used.
For all ports define as Normally Open = False.

DELTA PSC3 CONFIGURATION
Enable the PSC 3 DHCP server. Select menu 5.4.1 DHCP on
the PSC 3 panel and scroll to server and press enter and
accept Yes.
Check the IP address is 192.168.100.100
o If required the password is up up down left left right
using the arrows/exit/enter buttons
Connect the computer to the PSC 3 with an Ethernet cable.
(Straight or crossed).
The PC should be automatically given the IP address
192.168.100.101.
o Check by clicking start, run, type cmd, then ipconfig.
The PC IP address will be shown.Type exit to quit.
Open an internet browser.
In the address bar of the internet browser, enter
192.168.100.100.
The screen below will appear.
There are several user names but we should use:
Username: configuration
Password: psc3
You will then see the PSC 3 homepage as shown below.

There are currently two SW Versions used in the Vodafone UK
network, 2.30 and 2.42. The version can be seen in the screen shot
above. It has been agreed that we upgrade all the sites we have to
SW Version 2.42.
If, as shown above, the version is 2.30 you need to upgrade to 2.42.
You need to run 3CDaemon and use the TFTP server.
Browse the Upload/Download Directory to the configuration files
location
Browse to the screen shown below using the menu on the left hand
side of the screen.

Enter the EXACT file name in the Filename box. Click Start, then OK
in the message box.
The following screens will appear.

Close the browser. Check on the unit that the IP address is correct
and that the DHCP is set to server.
You now need to load the correct configuration file for the site.
Reconnect to the PSC 3 as described above and follow the
instructions below.
Configuration File Download
These files are loaded to the PSC 3 from your PC as described below.
The TFTP server is built into this SW version but you still need to set
the Symantec firewall to O&M as in Ericsson 3G commissioning.

There are five configuration files available for SW Version 2.42. The
format is shown below:
nB_2_3_DPS2000_48_8_VFGlobalUK.xml
where:
number of battery strings
i.e. 0 to 4 depending on the setup at each site.
From the PSC 3 select the screen below using the menu on the left
hand side of the screen.
In File Type select Setup in the dropdown box. Then click Load
File From PC.

Click Browse and search for the .xml file you require.
Click Start and the Ok in the message box.
Then wait for the screen shown below indicating success.

Alarm Check
Browse to alarms using the Menu and select status.
An alarm may be active as above, click Inspect and further
information is given.

This alarm is showing S Non Urgent RFA (rectifier Fail Alarm).
You need to browse to the rectifier menu as shown below.
This shows that there are 4 rectifiers in situ but the SW is only
expecting 3.
Click Acknowledge and the SW recognises all 4 rectifiers.

Click Save (Top left) where modified is displayed.
Then click Update on the top menu.
All alarms should now be clear.
