Morning Playground Routine
It has been brought to our attention, by some parents, that there has been some issues with how
children come into the school first thing in the morning. At the moment it is not always easy for
parents to check their child has entered the school when the teacher brings them in. Starting from
Monday 3 November a new system will be in place which will work as follows:
Teachers will be on the playground from 8:45am. If you need to pass a quick message then this is
your opportunity to do so.
A member of staff will blow the whistle at 8:50am. This is to indicate to the children to form
their lines sensibly and settle ready for entering school.
At this point I am requesting that all parents leave the playground, if you wish to continue
conversations please retreat to the far end of the playground to do this.
Once the children are settled, staff will take responsibility for their classes and we will enter
school in an orderly fashion.
Please do not engage the class teacher in a conversation after the whistle has blown. If you need
to speak to a member of staff after this please talk to Mr Wallace of one of the teaching
assistants.
Thank you for your support.
School Website
We hope you are enjoying the school website and especially the class blogs. If you havent seen these yet
please ask your child to show you. Training sessions for parents will be held after half term, (dates
below) and I will send out more details when we get back.
ICT Update
The children have enjoyed using the new ipads this term. On the INSET day teachers are receiving
training in how to develop this further and over the half term a new wireless network is being installed
in school which will improve how they work a great deal. We have also purchased 8 new laptops which will
go into the old library area as we are developing this into more of an ICT hub.
Bag2School Collection
The next collection will be on Tuesday 11
th
November. Your child should now have brought home their
Bags2School bag. Fill your bags with your unwanted clothes, shoes, bags, ties, belts, hats and soft toys
and bring them into school on that day. Please support if you can as it is a great way to have a sort
out and help raise funds for the PTA. The last 2 collections combined have raised over 500 for the
PTA. Please note that Bag2school no longer accept bedding, cushions, curtains, towels, school uniform or
textile remnants.
Meet the Teacher presentations
These are now on the school website embedded into the class blogs.
PTA Childrens Christmas Cards
As part of the PTA's fundraising for this year, all of the children have drawn pictures to turn into
Christmas Cards, Gift Tags, Wrapping Paper and many other items via a third party company. The
pictures have been uploaded to their web site and items are ready for ordering.
Please go to www.mychildsart.co.uk and log in with the username and password below:
Username: StOswalds Password: SOPS2014
Please place all orders by 10th November to get your items delivered to the school free of charge.
