Simply Cool SC
Half-year report

Dear Shareholders,
The Simply Cool Student Company is looking back on the last six month with pride. With pride
towards our achievements and big excitement for the upcoming six month, that our planned ideas will
come true.
In early September 2012, we took on the challenge of founding our student company Simply Cool.
With great ambitions and contributions from all the team members in various brainstorming sessions
and launched surveys we could agree on our product and company name. In the following month we
created a more detailed vision and mission of the company in our Business Plan, which was finalized
by the end of beginning of December. Everyone made a good contribution to this Business Plan and
without the team-work it would not have been possible to finish it. As soon as we received the
approval of the plan, we were able to order our products with the chosen supplier, which we received
over Christmas. A slightly late order gave us a small draw back in expected sales, as the international
students were counting to take some products home over the vacation period. After the Christmas
break, after everyone returned, we focussed on preparations for the first upcoming sales events, the
Open-Day at the Hogeschool Zeeland as well as the market sale in theWaasland Shopping Centre in
Sint-Niklaas. Those two sales also marked the end of our first six month period.
If we look into the different departments into more depth, we see a great effort from everyone to help
to accomplish our mission and vision up to the present day.
The marketing-team amongst Jimmy Touw and Hugo Pelerin worked together developing ideas for
several promotional activities and designing the house style for the Company. Furthermore Jimmy was
in constant contact with our Dutch supplier. He negotiated countless times with him about the price of
the product, order quantities, how we are going to present our logo, payment terms and so on. We
were also very happy with our supplier Koozie, as he was very keen on giving us the best price and
delivering after our order as soon as possible.
Denise Montauban and also will remain our contact person with Jong Ondernemen. She always
overlooked the regulations as well as deadlines. Furthermore she is the holder of the bank account.
Vit Sochor was responsible for every IT related matters. He launched with the aid of Rogier Gout our
Facebook fan page in the beginning of November which has currently about 150 followers. This page
is a great way to communicate with our customers and to keep them up to date about the products and
the upcoming sales events. Additionally to our Facebook page, Vit also designed and launched our
homepage ([Link]) in the beginning of December. This is a further possibility to reach
our customers and give them the possibility to have a closer look at our products. As we are a Dutch
company the domain is also registered here in The Netherlands. Next to the IT matters Vit and Nikola
Ledwonova composed under the supervision of Frank de Jong, our financial accountant, the financial
predictions and calculations for the Business Plan. It was a big job, until all the numbers were in the
correct position, the required figures calculated and our financial prediction were sorted out.
Rogier Gout, helped me as an interim General Manager and was a big support in our first attempt for a
deal with the HZ University of Applied Sciences. We tried to make them an offer, to buy our products,
as a merchandise give away for potential students at the open days. Unfortunately our product did not
fit into their budgetary concept and therefore the offer was finally not accepted. Furthermore Rogier
was busy, managing our timetables, to find possible meeting slots next to the regular ones, where
necessary.

Cezara Ghebosu and Victor Bonjean took on the responsibility of the Research and Development
department. Both of them were the creative driving forces, to bring the product into accordance with
market demands. This was very important, during the development phase of our company, when we
had to find a product. Furthermore, we launched a survey, asking for the demand of the product, and
what our consumers are willing to pay for it. It needed to be an interaction between ideas, people and
technology which brought up our design.
Markus Brggemann, helped me to a great extend, to finish our business plan according to the
requirements by our supervisors, which was quite a test of endurance. Furthermore, he took the
responsibility of managing all paper work, bringing up the material, where needed.
During the first months after our product arrived, we were able to sell 40 units. On the one hand due to
the great contribution of the two market teams Denise and Jimmy, who drove to Sint-Niklaas and
Nikola and Vit, who sold our products during the open day at the HZ. On the other hand, we sold
several products to family and friends of our team members.
For the second part of the Student Company project, we are aiming to continue with high numbers of
sales. For this we will continue entering market days, selling at the university and to friends.
Furthermore, we are in contact with several companies, to find a large customer, who is interested in
buying our product.
That is precisely what Simply Cool is striving for, and it is what we want to be measured by. In the
interests of our customers, our employees and of our shareholders.
Last but not least due to positions rotations within the program, to give other members of the group, to
experience other position, step out of the comfort zone and rise to the given challenge, I stepped back
from the position of the General Manager and handed it over to Hugo Pelerin. I wish him all the best
for this task, and will support him in his position as good as possible, to strive for a good second
period of the company. Jimmy Touw will take over the position as the sales manager. Denise
Montauban will continue as our contact person with JongeOndernemen and her new position will be in
the finance department.
Sincerely,
Maximilian Wilde
Former General Manager

All the money we received from the sales is in this balance sheet. We received our products in late
December and we paid them also in December. We had to pay 641,60 for the products VAT included.
Without VAT this is 641,60/121*100= 530,24. In January our liquid assets increased with 30,10 due to
an increase of sales. In February sales went up again which leads to a total of liquid assets of 698,10 at
the 6th of February. The payable VAT is 111,36. Because we did not make any revenue it is not possible
to pay VAT for that.

Because we purchased our products in December we are running at a loss right now. With the continuous
