University Undergraduate Catalog or New Mexico State University Graduate Catalog
for the term of enrollment.

Living On Campus
Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are groups of
students who live together in the residence halls based
upon common interests and theyre a fabulous way to
get connected on campus! More than just social
opportunities, LLCs have peer advisors and residential
mentors working with each group to provide academic
support.
Living In Residence Halls:
Theres no extra cost to live in an LLC, but the benefits are huge Data has
proven that LLCs increase students satisfaction at school and in Residence
Halls, increase the chance of them graduating within four years and also
increase their interaction with faculty.
Students participating in an LLC live in the same area of a residence hall or
apartment community and have frequent opportunities to interact with other
students, staff, and faculty who share common academic, professional, and/or
personal interests. LLC residents also benefit from Faculty Advisors and
specially-trained student staff who work together to provide an experience
that bridges the gap between students academic and social lives, and increases
their chance for success in college.

As a resident of an LLC, you get to help shape the personality and activities of
the community to meet your needs and interests. There are also special
opportunities like the annual Murder Mystery Night event that are available
only to LLC residents. LLCs are an outstanding way to get involved on campus,
be supported academically, and have fun!
Dorms:
For the first year of college.
Which is your freshman year you have to live in the
dorms or on campus.

Student Meal Plan as a Freshman
NMSU offers a variety of student
meal plan options to fit your

dining concepts on campus, you
have a wide variety of food
options. Student Meal Plan
contracts are year-long
obligations, therefore, if you
have a meal plan for the Fall

be given the same meal plan for
the Spring semester (option to
change for the Spring) of the
same academic year. Prices and
values listed are per semester.

Transportation:
Switch to Transportation Services
NMSU parking rules are in effect from 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with free
parking on the evenings and weekends and free parking lots located around campus.
Free Parking and Shuttle Service
NMSU makes it easy and affordable to park and commute around campus. Aggie
Transit provides free shuttle routes that transport riders with a valid Aggie ID from free
parking lots (identified in brown on the parking map) to the far reaches of campus, with
multiple stops in between. Save your hard-earned cash and avoid the morning and
afternoon parking rush with the free Aggie Transit.
Prefer to Park Closer?
A variety of NMSU Parking Permits are available for those who wish to park in a
designated permitted parking lot. Parking rules are enforced Monday-Friday from 7:30
a.m. 4:30 p.m. Please consult the parking map for designated parking locations.
Just Visiting?
For those who only visit campus periodically, a variety of Visitor Permits are available.
Continuation:
Departmental Placards
NMSU Departments may request a special placard that will allow
parking in specified areas of campus.
Plenty of Spaces!
There are about 13,500 available parking spaces on campus. However,
during the universitys peak hours (9 a.m. 2 p.m. weekdays), only
about 7,900 of those spaces are filled at one time. Therefore, there are
generally at least 5,600 spaces available! IMPORTANT TIP: The lots
around the center of campus near Corbett Center Student Union
(CCSU), the Horseshoe, and the Barnes & Noble at NMSU Bookstore &
Caf tend to fill up very fast and remain occupied most of the day.
Reduce the time and stress of driving around looking for a spot by
simply parking in the All Permits lots east of Chamisa Village on
Stewart Street. These lots are historically underutilized and are only a
couple minutes walk from CCSU.
Transportation & Parking Services is pleased to employ nearly
two dozen NMSU students!

Ride Roadrunner Transit for Free
Full-time students registered on main campus can
obtain a free Aggie U-Pass card each semester at the
NMSU Parking Dept. located in the Auxiliary Services
building between Panda Express and the Barnes &
Noble at NMSU Bookstore & Caf. This card allows for
free access to the Las Cruces Roadrunner Transit
system with campus stops along University Avenue
from El Paso/Union to Locust Street. Replacement
cards may be purchased at cost.

#8
You picked up your class schedule
and there are two classes not there.
Discuss what your plans will be in
order to resolve this dilemma?

Dilemma #8:
If I picked up my schedule and there are two classes that are not on there.... I will
go to the academic advisor that was assigned to me when I first went to register
and my college catalog that was assigned to me during registration in which is my
best friend throughout college. Then I will tell the academic advisor the situation
and ask if there are any classes similar to the two that are missing if the reason was
they dont offer that class anymore. I would mainly ask the academic advisor if
she/he could fix it and put my two classes that I am missing back or on my
schedule, only if the two classes were classes that I really needed to take then I
would. That is what I will do to solve this dilemma. This is how I would resolve any
problem in college if it actually and my college catalog and administration are the
main things refer to if I face these dilemmas in college.
Thank You!
