Pitaya is another name for the Dragon Fruit the fruit of a night-blooming cactus.

Materials:
Size 11 Delicas in two colors:
o 1 g color A
o 1.5 g color B (the dominant color)
Size 11 seed beads - 1 g
Fireline
Size 12 needle

Technique: Peyote in the round with increases and decreases.
Repeating bead sequences are noted by the instructions between
two stars (*). Using Size 11 Delicas, and Size 11 seed beads, the
beaded bead will turn out 2.5 x 2 cm. No interior filling is necessary. The increases and decreases cause
the body of the bead to stabilize automatically.

Round 1: Pick up 5 seed beads and turn them into a circle.

Round 2: Peyote around with Color B

Round 3: Peyote around with Color A

Round 4 (increase!): Add 2 Color A between each sticky-uppy bead. Step up through the first of
the 2 Color A beads.

Round 5: Repeat 5 times 1 seed bead between the doubles, and 1 Color B

Round 6: 10x Color B

Round 7: 5x *alternate Color B and Color A *

Round 8: 10x Color A

Round 9 (increase!): 5x *alternate 1 Color B, and a double Color A * (will start to flatten out)

Round 10: 5x * 1 Color B, 1 seed bead splitting the doubles, 1 Color B *

Round 11: 15x Color B

Round 12: 5x *1 Color A, 2 Color B stitches* (will start to cup upwards)

Round 13: 5x *1 Color A, 1 Color B, 1 Color A *

Round 14: 5x *2 Color A stitches, 1 Color B *

Round 15 (increase!): 5x *Double Color A, 2 Color B stitches*. Step up through the first of the
double As. (starts flattening out)

Round 16: 5x *1 seed bead splitting the double, 3 Color B stitches*

Round 17: 20x Color B

Round 18 (half time!): 5x *3x Color B, 1 Color A * (will start to cup up again)

Round 19: 20x Color B

Round 20: 5x *2x Color B, 1 seed bead, 1 Color B *

Round 21: 5x *1 Color B, 2x Color A, 1 Color B *

Round 22 (decrease!): 5x *1 Color A, jump over the gap above the seed bead without adding a
bead, 1 Color A, 1 Color B* (tighten inward to help the decrease)

Round 23: 5x *1 Color B into the decrease gap of the previous row, 2 Color A*

Round 24: Stitch over to the first sticky outy Color A bead. Then 5x *1 Color A , 2x Color B *
(using the Color B in the corner as a sticky-outy bead)

Round 25: 15x 1 Color B

Round 26: 5x *2x 1 Color B, 1 seed bead (above the Color A bead below) *

Round 27: 5x *1 Color B, 2x Color A*

Round 28 (decrease!): 5x *1 Color A, jump over the gap, 1 Color A*

Round 29: 5x * 1 Color B into the decrease gap of the previous row, 1 Color A * (tighten towards
the center)

Round 30: Needle through the first Color B bead in the corner, and then 10x Color B (Its okay
for the new beads to sit up)

Round 31: 5x *1 seed bead, 1 Color B *

Round 32: 10x Color A

Round 33 (decrease!): 5x *1 Color A, Jump over the gap *

Round 34: 5x Color B into the decrease gap of the previous row

Round 35: 5x seed bead needle through this last row 2 more times to pull the beads together.
End off your threads.
