YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A PART
OF OUR CLASSROOM COMMUNITY
QUILT
We have been learning about materials.
We will be using materials to make our
Community Quilt.
Task
1. You will choose a selection of
materials to make your part of the
quilt. Some of these materials will
be recycled. (We will have the
materials you choose from in our
classroom. Paper, cardboard, fabric,
buttons etc.)
2. You will glue your materials on to
a worksheet in the shape of a
circle, square or triangle
3. You will complete a Worksheet
about your design
4. You will share and talk about your
design with the class

Due date: Tuesday 3 June 2014
ART GALLERY
We will host an Art Gallery opening
An Art Gallery is where works of art are
exhibited. Your Classroom Community
Quilt is a work of art.
Art is a form of expressing yourself.
We will invite out Principal, Parents and
Carers to come and see the beautiful
Community Quilt you will make.

This is a coil made of materials. This was created
using a weaving technique called coiling. We will be
using an assortment of materials to make our
community quilt. We will use mainly re-cycled
materials. We will use cutting and gluing techniques
to achieve this.


SUSTAINABILITY
Actions to improve sustainability are both individual
and collective [Link] task offers cross
curricular priorities with Sustainability. When
considering our community it is important to think
about our impact upon it. The Community quilt
allows opportunity to create an Artwork made from
recycled materials caring for our environment.
