THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

2 Kings 20:1 says, About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: This is what the LORD says: Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness.
Ive done a lot of funerals and memorial services. Ive visited people who were literally at death's door, and I can tell you that when life comes to an end, there are three things that will really matter to you: faith, family, and friends. Truly, most important is your faith; your relationship with God. Too many have regrets and say, "I wish had I spent more time walking closely with God. I wish I had made more time for spiritual things." They recognize the fact that they will stand before God Almighty. How sad it is when people realize they have squandered their lives. Next is your family. "I wish I had been a better father," or "I wish I had been a better mother," some say. You won't be concerned about how much money you made, whether you spent enough time at the office, or whether you have plenty of possessions. You will be leaving all that behind. Sadly, we spend too much time on things that don't matter, neglecting what really does matter. It all will come down to faith, then family, and then friends. These are things that we want to think about. We want to make sure that our lives are right before God. When King Hezekiah was close to death, the prophet Isaiah told him, "Set your house in order" (2 Kings 20:1). Is your house in order today? Dont forget! If you want to help volunteer at SE Ohio Food Bank in Logan on April 5th, we leave the church at 8:15. Our act of kindness last from 9:00-noon. There is a sign-up sheet in coat room. I hope you join me. In His Service, Brad the will will the

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

A PERSONAL NOTE: As a follow up to last Sunday mornings announcement, I want to reaffirm my sincere appreciation to the Praise Team for the work they have done, in second worship, over the past months. SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY: This Sunday evening (3/30), our study is Marked Men: Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1:1-3 & chapter 9). In coming weeks we will be examining the prophetic ministries of Jonah, Zechariah and Malachi. We would be happy to have you join us for these Sunday evening studies at 6:00 PM. MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDIES: This week, April 2, we will be resuming our midweek Bible studies. As I stated, last week, we will begin a new study on I Timothy. This will be one of my typical verse/chapter studies, with study questions. Why not join us for the 10am or 6:30pm session? (We may return to the Old Testament Survey in the fall.) SENIOR EVENT: As of this writing, I have forwarded 5 registrations for Senior Saints In The Smokies. If you are planning to attend, you may give your registration form and fee to me for forwarding. The date is May 26-30. I would, certainly, encourage any of our folk to consider attending this great senior gathering (age 55 and up). This will be the 30th year for this program held on the Johnson University campus. (I have attended for over 20 years.) To qualify for the early bird rate (a savings of $10 per person), registrations must be submitted by April 15. FINAL THOUGHT: No one ever injured their eyesight by looking on the bright side of things.

Easter Bunny, Are You For Real? by Harold Myra is an early reader or Mommy and Me book. What does the Easter Bunny have to do with Easter? Images of the Easter Bunny and egg hunts often seem to overshadow the real meaning of this important Christian holiday. Hopping to the rescue it Easter Bunny, Are You For Real? Through an entertaining storey and fun illustrations, children will learn the history behind the holiday and see beyond the cuddly commercialism to the true celebration of our risen Christ!

Six Hours One Friday by Max Lucado is in our adult church library. To the casual observer there was nothing unusual about those six hours. To the casual observer, this Friday was a normal Friday. Six hours of routine. Six hours of the expected. Six hours, one Friday. But to a handful of witnesses the most maddening of miracles is occurring. Three bodies are bolted to three crosses. And one of the bodies is God. What do you do with that day in history? What do you do with its claims? If it really happened if God did commandeer his own crucifixion, then those six hours are packed with triumph. For it was in those six hours that God gave us three anchor points sturdy enough to withstand any hurricane life may send us. Because of the cross you and I can know that: Our lives are not futile Our failures are not fatal Our deaths are not final Once again Max Lucado takes us to the foot of the cross where we find hope for lifes tough issues. In the cross we find purpose, forgiveness, and rest. If the claims of the cross are true, then there is an anchor point for our futility, amnesty for the guilty, and life for the dying. And there is rest. Rest for the weary.

Stop by our church libraries and check out a good book. If you have any questions about the library, please contact Delores Payne.

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE! At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving people, and turning the world upside down. We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you return next week and bring your friends with you. If you would please take a few minutes to fill out a Silent Roll Call Card, located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in the offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. For more information about our great church, contact our minister, Brad Seevers at [email protected] or call him at 740.550.9882. Have a great week and may God bless your life.

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are: Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through gracebased preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and SoonComing King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member. If you would like to take a Curious class, please indicate this on your Silent Roll Call Card.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
