Introduction:
The Allied Health Science program of Texila Career College (TCC) is committed to provide career-oriented educational programs of Clinical at the Diploma level through several affiliated Hospitals / Paramedical Institutions/exclusive study centers located worldwide.
This course is primarily focused for students with 12 years of formal schooling; and it would come very handy to those who are already working in Hospitals and other health sectors. TCC delivers this course through several affiliated Institutions / Hospitals / Paramedical Institutes and exclusive Study Centres located worldwide, which facilitates the student to pursue this course by residing in their respective location. The Core advantage of these vocational programs is that students will receive hands on training through the affiliated Hospitals and Institutions.
Program Overview
DNA (Diploma in Nursing Assistant)
This course prepares the students for employment as an entry-level bedside caregiver in health care facilities such as Hospitals and Nursing homes. Nursing Assistant performs basic nursing tasks under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse in a nursing home, home health environment, or Hospital setting. The Nursing Assistant course focuses on introducing the students to the basic nursing skills and procedures with their daily living activities, specialized care and communication needs.

Diploma in Nursing Assistant(80 Credits)
2 Years or 4 Semesters Student should have completed minimum 12 years of formal Schooling excluding the Pre- School Education.
Eligibility Criteria Should have Integrated Science or Biology as one of the subjects. Age Medium Of Instruction Age no bar English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study and for examinations of the course. Teaching methods for this course will include lectures, demonstrations, guest lecturers, lab exercises, reading and writing assignments. Once every 6 months Examination Includes Practical and Theory
On successful completion of this program, the candidate will be conferred with the degree of Diploma in Nursing Assistant by Texila American University

OTHER REGULATIONS:
1. MINIMUM WORKING DAYS IN AN ACADEMIC YEAR: Each academic year shall consist of not less than 180 days with a minimum of 90 days working days per semester.
2. ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR APPEARING EXAMINATION: a) Examination will be conducted in both theory and practical as prescribed. Candidates will be permitted to appear for the Examinations in the subject, only if they secure not less than 80 % of attendance in each subject of the respective semester/year. b) A student who does not meet the minimum attendance requirement in a semester or year must repeat the course work along with the next batch of students.
3. INTERNAL ASSESSMENT: It will be for theory and practical both. It will be done through the whole year. Candidate must obtain at least 40% marks in theory and 50% practicals separately in internal assessment to be eligible for the annual university examination. Internal assessment (Theory) will be done as follows : o Mid-term and term examinations = (Please Specify) marks o Assignments/Projects/Class test/Clinical Presentations = (Please specify) marks o Attendance = 05 marks o Total = 20 marks Internal assessment (Practical) will be done as follows : Laboratory manual = 10 marks Day to day performance = 05 marks Attendance = 05 marks Total = 20 marks.
4. EXAMINATIONS:
The Final Examination will be conducted in the suggested pattern for all the two years. The particulars of subjects for various examinations and distribution of marks are detailed in the Scheme of Examination.
5. ELIGIBILITY / MAXIMUM DURATION FOR THE AWARD OF THE DEGREE: The candidates shall be eligible for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology when they have undergone the prescribed course of study for a period of not less than two years in TCC and have passed the prescribed examinations in all subjects. The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed the period of 5 years.
6. MARKS QUALIFYING FOR A PASS: PRACTICAL (50%)& THEORY-. (40%)(But both together must be 50%).
