Stewardship Spotlight
GOOD STEWARDSHIP AT ST. COLUMBA
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you again (Luke 6:38). Christmas time is a season of joyful giving and helping. It is a season that reminds us how God so lavishly showered His love and blessing to us through His Son. This makes us magnanimous in giving and sharing. We are happy to report that many parishioners practiced good stewardship in their generosity, especially during the joyful season of Christmas. A significant increase in the collection for the General Fund and Building and Maintenance Fund was reported (see parish Year-end report). More families benefitted this year from the Christmas baskets coming from parishioners donations. Generous donations from parishioners for the Matthew 25 Angel Tree reached almost $13,000. Youth group distributed socks and provided hot chocolate to the homeless in the downtown area. Annual Catholic Appeal rebate is 40% in excess of the parish goal. Once again, we are all called to be grateful and generous stewards. This is not about the few parishioners who constantly give, but for everyone to give his/her share regardless of the amount.
