transformed in our own lifetimes. In less than a generation, major social, economic and technological changes have revolutioni ed library administration. It is e!pected that academic librarians, being the agents of change, will provide the needed insights and direction to meet the challenges of the new millennium. "he key issues and concerns will focus on the challenges in the areas of library management, collection buildup, computeri ation, and cooperation. A strategic plan for the ne!t decade focused on these three agenda will provide the impetus needed for academic and research libraries in the #hilippines to $ride with the times.%
