Cleveland Ironstone Formation

The document discusses the Cleveland Ironstone Formation, a sequence of marine ironstone seams found in northeast England. It was a major driver of industrialization in the late 1800s due to ironstone mining. The formation contains six named ironstone seams and spans two faunal zones. Economically, the Cleveland Ironstone proved crucial to the development of the Tees Valley industrial region.
