The idea of zombies also exists in some South African cultures, where it is believed a dead person can be turned into a zombie by a child or witches to force them into slave labor. In popular culture, zombies are fictional undead creatures portrayed as reanimated corpses or virus-infected humans, often depicted as cannibalistic. It is also believed in some areas of South Africa that witches can turn a person into a zombie by illing and possessing the victim!s body in order to force it into slave labor.
