Title: A Report on the Administered to Year 5 Bestari in SK Undang Rembau. 1.
Intoduction
We give our students tests in order to find out their language proficiency. After we have given the tests, we have to write a report for certain purposes which firstly, maybe to measure achievement of the students. For examples, are have they performed well in their test paper given. Secondly, are languages structures selected and graded on the basis of simplicity or contrastive difficulty? Report writes to diagnose either instructions needs improvement. These questions will occur when we make an assessment throughout the results of the test given. Lastly, purpose of writing this report is to measure how is the students mastery the material given.
2. The School and Pupils selected For The Test I have conducted this test in SK Undang Rembau which is situated in the heart of Rembau City. This school has three classes for standard 5 students. I have chosen 5 Bestari which will be the first class with 30 average students to sit for the test. Unfortunately, 5 pupils did not attend the class since they went to Kidzania Trip in Kuala Lumpur. However, I managed to have 25 students to sit for the test in an hour.
3. The Performance of Pupils in the Class : Problems and Ways to overcome them
Students are given a test in order to find out how well their language proficiency. So, I have decided to test on pronouns, tenses and prepositions in section B. While in section A I have test used materials based on world of stories and section C, world of knowledge. Based on the table below, it shows the students performance based on the test given. Table 1 : Results obatained by 5 Bestari students Very good! A detailed report of test scores for different sections. Draw another table to indicate the percentage of pupils who scored A, etc. The table illustrates the result obtained by students in 5 Bestari . it shows separate scores for all 3 sections ( section A, b and c ) , together with the overall score and the grades. From an overall perspective, students with maximum marks are between 82 to 85. Moreover , they scored the highest of all three sections (section A, B and C). While students with average results are between 65-73 and lastly students who get the poor marks are all identical marks which is 63. This shows that the range between highest and lowest marks are : Range = Highest score lowest score = 85-63 = 22 marks Hence, to get the real picture of student performance, we have to find the mean score of the results. Mean of average = sum of all scores Number of candidates who sat for test = 1690 25 = 67.6 As the mean score is average it shows that the test paper is suitable for average students. As a final point, it is interesting to note that the scores for each section shows that all students get more than 10 marks for section C. Does it mean that this section is easy???

Graph 1 : Students versus percentage of their scores
Based on line graph 1 above, it shows that 8 of the 25 students get the identical marks which are 70 marks. Since the mode is the score that the most of the candidates obtained. Hence, according to the graph line above, the mod for this test is 70 marks with a maximum of 8 candidates who obtained it.

Graph 2:??? Based on the line graph above, students number 12 (students with average marks), 23 and 25 (students with highest marks) manage to get the highest marks for section A which is 12. It shows that the items from section A have worked in relation to the test. Based on section A marks, it shows that students with lowest marks could not manage to get highest marks in section A. Furthermore students with lowest marks for the whole test get the lowest marks for section A which is 4 marks. The test in section A can be improved by giving the simplest text comprehension. In addition, question 1 in section A is not suitable for those students. Most of the students could not get the correct answer for this question. This question is actually easy but, since more than half of the students could not get the correct answer, it shows that the teaching and learning is not going so well. This is because, usually, students will learn that news is advertised after the tragedy has taken place. Question 1 : 1. The accident took place on A. 24 July B. 25 July C. 26 July D. 27 July 5
The test in section A is about world of stories. It can be improved by giving a more specific instruction. For example, the instruction can be changed into : You are given four options to complete the statement in each of the following items. Read each item carefully and then circle the best option.
To overcome this kind of problems, teacher has to tell candidate clearly what they have to do and for simplicity teacher can use the imperative instructions such as circle the correct answer.
The test can also be improved by using the simplest vocabulary. This is because most of the students could not manage to understand the words given in the passage 2, Fahim the farm boys. The words cowshed, chicken coop and wheelbarrow has made the pupils lost their self-esteem to answer the questions To overcome this problem, teacher has to enrich pupils with vocabulary. In class, each of the students need to have one vocabulary book for them to write new words every day. Hence this will help them not only in their objectives questions but also their daily speaking and essays. Furthermore, questions from number 1 to 5 do not have the same length of answers. This weakness has make the candidates chose the the answers with the longest length. The test can be improved by putting all options in the same length.
Hence, to overcome this problem, teacher has to tell students that It is not necessary for the correct answer to be the longest option.
In conclusion, questions in section A has to be improved and students should be given more exercises in this kind of questions.
Students position according to their full marks
Graph 3: ??? The graph shows marks obtained by the students in section B. The horizontal axis on the graph shows the students position according to their full marks. The first student is the student with lowest marks for the overall test while number 24 shows the student with highest marks for overall test. The vertical axis shows the number of marks they obtained for section B. The graph compares the number of marks obtained by students in section B questions. It can be clearly seen that student number 24 which is the student with highest marks for overall test manage to get the highest marks for the section B questions. While students number 4 get the lowest marks for the overall questions obtained the lowest marks for the section B questions.. It is not necessary if they get the highest marks for their overall test they will get the highest marks for their section B. Since pupils in this class are full of average students, it shows that most of the students in this class manage to get 5 marks and above for section B. Section B questions is about pronouns, tenses and prepositions. It can be clearly seen that most of the students did not perform very well in this section. Moreover, there are some students who could not manage to get marks more than 5. From the assessment I have been made, I can see that they could not manage to answer questions from number 16 to 20 which is a cloze test. Cloze is used to test grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Our
questions have provide the pupils with alternatives immediately after each blank. In my opinion, pupils do not understand about the uses of verb. The test can be improved by giving a sentence or two to be left at the beginning of the text before blanks are inserted to the text. This few line are called as leadin . This is to help the pupils get the ideas about the writers style before they confronted with blanks to fill. So, the problems of putting the correct verbs can be overcome by instructing the students to read through the whole text before beginning to fill in the blanks so that they will understand the whole text.

Graph 4: ????
The graph above illustrates the scores for section C. It shows scores for 25 students in 5 Bestari From an overall perspective, student number 21 scored the highest marks for this section. In other hand, this student also scored the highest marks for the overall test. From my observations, this student managed to get highest marks in her reasoning questions. She wrote very good and varied sentences, with minor grammatical errors and reasons for choices made are very clear and relevant. On the other hand, student with lowest marks in section C obtained the average marks for the overall of the test. His sentences are very simple and very poor. Furthermore, the sentences have so many grammatical errors. It is interesting to note that most of the students get 10 marks and above for this section. From my research, I can say that question A in section C is too easy for them. The test can be improved by giving them more challenging questions. In conclusion, to overcome this problem teacher has to give pupils lots of exercises that can help them answer the higher order thinking questions.
4. Conclusion From the evaluation discussion above, I can say that it is important to make an assessment through graphs and tables. Through graphs and table we can evaluate the performance of our students. Furthermore, we can find out how well the test worked and ways to improve and to overcome the problems. Comments A very detailed analysis of pupils performance based on the test administered. Problems were tables and ways to overcome them were suggested. Well done.
