This is just a reminder to those that have not yet completed The Williams School Parent Survey. This research is an important step in our schools accreditation process, and your participation is an essential component of this process. Thank you to everyone that has already given us their input. This survey provides you with the opportunity to express your opinion on a wide range of issues concerning Williams, and your experiences and insights as a parent of a child attending The Williams School. We recommend that you set aside about 15 minutes to complete the survey. The survey must be completed in one session. All information you provide is completely anonymous. You will not be asked to provide your name nor is your survey coded in any manner that will allow the school to identify you. Were interested in your frank and honest opinions, so please speak your mind! If you have any questions about this survey, or how the information will be used, please contact Melanie Bird at 757-627-1383 ext#240 or [email protected] Note: The survey is not fully compatible with the Safari browser. For best results, please use Internet Explorer (IE) or Firefox. It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Laura Adams Boycourt, middle school Language Arts teacher, will be resigning from The Williams School at the end of this calendar year. Lauras husband, Navy CDR Steve Boycourt, is being transferred to Fort Belvoir and they will be establishing their home in the Northern Virginia/Maryland area. Laura was also excited to announce that she is expecting their first child in April. This move will allow them to be closer to their respective families. Laura has been a true asset during her time at The Williams School. Her understanding of the English curriculum, engagement of students in the instructional process, and willingness to support extra-curricular activities has added to the success of the overall school program. Her last day on staff will be December 19. She will be missed. The administration will begin working immediately on filling this teaching position. Our schedule will include indentifying and interviewing possible candidates during the month of October, selecting and offering the position to the successful individual in November, and bringing the new teacher on board the first part of December to work with Ms. Boycourt. This process will help ensure a seamless transition for our students. We appreciate your support as we go through this process. We look forward to your thoughts and comments in this regard.
