Content Welcome and Introductions INTRODUCE yourself to the participants and welcome them to the course. POSITION the session in terms of it being part of a programme to increase ATV across the business by looking at the role Supervisors play in driving that all important ATV figure. RUN through the course outline and objectives for the session. By the end of this session delegates will be able to Understand what ATV means Understand why it is important to the store to increase it Understand the Supervisors role in delivering ATV through the team Understand the importance of Role Modelling Action plan to over come barriers

ISSUE Handout 1 BRIEF the participants that in a few moments they will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the rest of the group. ASK participants to ensure the following information is covered: Name Role Background What do they do now to drive ATV in their teams?

Debenhams International Supervisors Driving ATV Trainers notes RUN through admin and housekeeping points for the day i.e. Handout 2 toilets, fire, breaks, finish time, messages, mobiles, security etc. 10.20 ISSUE Handout 2 and explain that it is useful to think about actions throughout the session and they need to jot down their ideas as the session progresses. These notes will form the basis for their Action Planning session at the end of the morning/ afternoon. 10.25 Introduction to ATV ASK what does ATV mean? ASK why is it important that we increase it in our stores? ASK what will happen if we dont? Managing Expectations of Me Exercise Briefing 1 Put three headed flip charts round the room 1. What does my manager expect of me? 2. What do my team expect of me? 3. What does the business expect of me? Split delegates into 3 smaller groups Each group to have time to visit each flip chart Allow 10 mins for first visit Move to next sheet Allow 5 mins for second sheet Move to next sheet Allow 5 mins for third sheet Re-group and Trainer visit each sheet and discuss. Driving ATV Now REMIND the group that as part of their introduction this morning they all offered actions that they do to drive ATV in their stores. EXPLAIN that we are now going to look at the differences between what a Supervisor does to drive ATV and what a Sales Advisor does Exercise Briefing Split into 2 groups Produced April 2009

Group 2 What do I do? 11.35 Feedback Briefing Spokesperson from each group feedback to whole room Working As a Team EXPLAIN that Driving ATV in their departments is very much a team activity Exercise Briefing Split into small group and issues coloured cards / sheets of A4 paper Brief teams that they now have 10 mins to construct the highest tower they can in the time allowed. Feedback Briefing Ask groups what they did within the team to support each other? How did they share ideas? Collect on a flip chart all the positive qualities of being in a successful team Ask group how this relates to being part of a team on the shop floor? Driving ATV Tomorrow EXPLAIN that they have already looked at what they currently do to Drive ATV in their teams. Now they are going to look at what their teams need to do to Drive ATV in the future. Exercise Briefing 1 Brainstorm what it is that teams need to do Flip up responses from whole group Allow 10 mins Exercise Briefing 2 Split into 2 groups Divide the actions from exercise 1 between the groups Groups to discuss What do I need to do to support these actions? Allow 10 minutes Swap Flip Charts Allow a further 5 mins Feedback Briefing Each group to feed back a flip chart Over coming Barriers EXPLAIN to the group that they have gathered a great deal of information that will help them Drive ATV with their teams EXPLAIN that they are now going to use that information to put together an Action Plan of what they need to do when they get back on the shop floor 13.45 CHECK if everybody is familiar with the Action Planning Process.
