GOLISANO COLLEGE UNDERGRADUATE DEPARTMENTAL DELEGATES FOR COMMENCEMENT 2013
Welcome to the 2013 RIT and B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences Commencement celebration. We congratulate all our graduates along with their families and are happy you could join us here today. This ceremony recognizes achievement, hard work, and dedication, all culminating towards the self-fulfillment of earning a college degree. Listed below are the undergraduate delegates from each of our five departments who will lead their fellow students in the commencement procession today. These students were selected by their departments for personal achievement that demonstrates the ideals and excellence in academics at RIT and the Golisano College. Brian Brodine
Brian Brodine, from Pittsford, NY is graduating with a BS in medical informatics and a minor in chemistry. Brian has competed nationally in target archery and trained at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. Brian is a New York State-certified EMT who has volunteered for RIT Ambulance and the Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance. He has performed co-op at Anomalous Medical in St. Petersburg, Florida, and participated in collegiate cycling at RIT. In addition, he has completed the Ironman Triathlon, spanning more than 140 miles in just over 13 hours. He plans to attend dental school following his graduation.
Josh Graff
Joshua Graff, from Lake George, NY is graduating with a BS in computer science. Josh worked as a Quality Assurance Intern at BCC Software, and as a Software Development Intern at Verivo Software in Boston. He is the sitting Treasurer of Tango Club and Secretary of the Computer Science Community (CSC), as well as a former Vice President of the RIT Skeptics Club. Josh is also currently working on a personal project that combines his love of music and programming, with a music service aggregate website called Tuneheap. Josh plans to pursue industry employment upon graduation.
Ivy Ngo
Ivy Ngo, from Los Angeles, CA is graduating with a BS in game design and development and a minor in Japanese language. She is a Presidential Scholar who has made the Deans List in all quarters of her RIT education. She was the 2011 winner of the Imagine Cup at RIT Game Jam, has done co-op at Darkwind Media designing mobile games, and also worked with Easter Seals to develop and design a biofeedback game for autistic children. She is revered by her peers for her multifarious abilities which include programming, illustrating, and 3D design. She intends to continue designing and developing impactful games following her graduation.
Philip Rodriguez
Philip Rodriguez, from Rochester, NY is graduating with a BS in software engineering. Philip has served as a Student Lab Instructor for the Computer Science Department and as a team leader on numerous software engineering projects. He has gained over two years of industry experience working at Paychex as a software test automation engineer and a Java developer. In addition, he assisted ESL Federal Credit Union with coding their new online Open Enrollment module, and facilitated in the creation of a software requirements specification document for a new mobile application for Hope Church. Outside of the classroom, Philip enjoys playing guitar, physical training, playing chess, and volunteer work.
Neil Zimmerman
Neil Zimmerman, from Rochester, NY is graduating with a BS in computing security, and minors in computer science and business administration. In his time at RIT he was a member of the Honors Program, the Security Practices and Research Student Association, and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. A Rochester native, Neil has recently moved across the country to Palo Alto, CA to work for Palantir Technologies.

Rob Williams
Rob Williams, from West Henrietta, NY is graduating with a MS in information technology. He previously graduated with a BS in information technology from RIT. Rob has worked as a Graduate Assistant and also completed co-ops with Merck, Motorola, and Xerox. During Hurricane Sandy, Rob and a classmate worked quickly to create a project that leveraged Geographic Information Science to present a visualization of Hurricane Sandy- related, geo-tagged tweets. Their Twitter map was featured by multiple area news outlets.
Sebastin Hernndez
Sebastin Hernndez, from Quito, Ecuador is graduating with a MS in game design and development. Originally a self-trained programmer, Sebastin designed games for Blue Lizard Games, one of the first Ecuadorian game development studios, and began a passion for developing the game industry in his home country. Following his work in Ecuador, Sebastin came to study at RIT as a Fulbright Scholar, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, while working on the cutting-edge of development of character control systems and game engines as a student and Research Assistant. Upon graduating, Sebastin aims to share his passion with gaming audiences by developing new experiences and striving to one day launch his own game company.
Christopher Wood
Christopher Wood, from Mexico, NY is graduating with a MS in computer science. Christopher is a member of the RIT Honors Program and the Tau Beta Pi Honors Engineering Society. He has had a distinguished research record at RIT that has included multiple academic journal publications, conference presentations, and research stipends awarded, including the Honors Research Assistantship Stipend. His co-ops have included work with L3 Communications, Intel, and research into tactical wireless networks for Harris Communications. Furthermore, he has worked as a teaching assistant in the software engineering, computer science, and computer engineering departments. In July, Christopher will begin an internship at Palo Alto Research Center as he begins pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of California- Irvine with a focus on applied cryptography.
Gabbie Burns
Gabrielle Burns, from Hampton, NH is graduating with a MS in software engineering. She previously earned a BS in computer science from RIT. Gabbie has maintained a 4.0 GPA, while working as a Graduate Research Assistant , and engaging in multiple co-ops with Microsoft. Gabbie is a member of the RIT Honors Program and served as Evaluations Director for the RIT Computer Science House, a group for which she also developed a streamlined membership management database. She plans to utilize her various computing skills to secure full-time employment with a tech firm in the near future.
