UV Radiation: Uses and Risks

Ultraviolet radiation has several indications such as treating acne, psoriasis, pressure areas, and wounds. It aims to improve skin conditions by stimulating cell growth and destroying bacteria. However, it also has contraindications for patients with eczema, lupus, herpes, fevers, recent radiation therapy, photosensitivity, or tuberculosis. Dangers of UV radiation include shock, eye damage, and overdosing, so proper protection and dosing are important.
