Plastiment TM 25: Water Reducing and Set Retarding Concrete Admixture

Plastiment 25 is a water-reducing and set-retarding admixture designed for roller compacted concrete structures. It increases workability, delays initial setting to allow for proper placement, and increases cement efficiency. In hardened concrete, it increases mechanical strength in all weather conditions and decreases heat generation and cracking risks. The liquid admixture is added to the concrete mix at a dosage of 0.5-2.5 liters per 100 kg of cement.

Water Reducing and Set Retarding Concrete Admixture
Description A concrete plasticizer specially designed for Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) structures. Complies with A.S.T.M. C 494 Type B&D Plastiment TM 25 is used in structural and mass concrete where long setting times and improved workability are required, such as projects with: s Large pours, to prevent formation of cold joints in RCC dams etc. s Long travel times from the concrete plant to the site s Difficult placing conditions and details s High ambient temperature. In Fresh state s Initial setting is delayed allowing time for proper placement and compacting new layer over the retarded RCC, without cold joint. s Decrease the mortar of concrete bonding volume s Increase the time available to re compacting the concrete without damaging the material. After the initial set heavy transits can damage the newly hydrated RCC. s Increase of the cement efficiency s Diminish the rate of initial heat generation. In hardened state s Increase the mechanical strengths in any weather conditions. s Diminish the heat generation and the cracking risk. s Increase the density of the RCC

Dispensing

Plastiment TM 25 is either added to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry concrete mix or added separately to wetted concrete mix, further mixing should take place for at least 1 minute per m .

Overdosing Notes on application/ limits

When overdosed, setting time will be extended . Trial mixes are recommended to establish exact dosage rates required to suit individual requirements. If assistance is required, please contact the Sika Technical Service Department. s Accurate dispensing equipment can be supplied by PT. Sika Indonesia s Use an appropriate mixer and do not mix by hand
