ISO located in Switzerland is a non-governmental organization established in 1947.
ISO 14000 was developed by Technical committee ISO/207.
Implemented in 132 countries.
It is general guidelines (not industry Specific) which talk about what specification an environment management system must meet. It can be implemented by small scale industries, Non profit organization, MNC`s.

standardization. ISO 14000 is relevant to environmental management. It specifies a framework of control for an Environmental Management System Refers to promote more effective and efficient environmental management in organizations and to provide useful and usable tools.
