Forced Play: An out created when a runner is forced to advance because there is another runner behind them, although they will be thrown or tagged out. The defensive player needs only to touch the base being approached by the runner with the ball in hand to record the out. Tagging Up: An action runners must perform before they can advance on a fly ball. Runners must touch the base they occupy after the ball is caught before they can try to advance. Runners can leave their base before a ball it hit, but must return and touch the base if the ball is caught Inside the Park Homer Run: When a player hits the ball inside the park and manages to get to home-plate without being called out. E.R.A: The average number of runs a pitcher allows in a 9-inning game. R.B.I.: The number of runs a player is responsible for producing Balk: Penalty for an illegal movement by the pitcher. The rule is designed to prevent pitchers from deliberately deceiving the runners. If called, base runners advance one base. Squeeze Play: When a player bunts and the man on third runs home. Full Count: when the maximum number of pitches (five) has been thrown by the pitcher.
