NX6 (Unigraphics) Student Install instructions
This software will not work unless you are on campus or using the VPN.

1. Download the compressed installation files.
a. Click on the download link
b. When this window comes up choose “Save File.”
2. Uncompress the downloaded file.
a. The downloaded file is a .RAR file and can be opened/uncompressed with WinRAR. This free
application can be downloaded here:

b. The file should look like this
c. Double Click on it and you are greeted with this
d. Click the “Extract To” button and save the files somewhere (the desktop is usually the
default).
3. Install the files.
a. The install sequence needs to be NX6->MoldWizard->Pro DieWizard
b. In the NX6 folder double click on “Launch” and you see
i. Click “Install NX”
ii. Choose your language
iii. Click “Next”
iv. Select the “Typical” install and click “Next”
v. Choose what folder to install to (choose the default) click “Next”
vi. The next window looks like this
1. Make sure that you put the same information as shown or NX will not work.
vii. Continue hitting next until NX starts to install.
viii. When everything finishes click “Exit”
c. Go back to the COE-NX6 folder and enter the MoldWizard folder
i. Double click on mwnx6.0_data_setup.
ii. Just like before choose install location and click “Next” until its installed
d. Go back to the COE-NX6 folder and enter the MoldWizard folder
i. Double click on pdwnx6.0_data_setup.
ii. Once again click until it’s installed.
4. Adding the extras to NX
a. Right now you have the basic package to run NX, we need to do one more step to allow you
to have access to everything.
i. Click on the “Start Menu”
ii. Right click on “My Computer” and click on “Properties”
iii. This window should come up
iv. Click on the “Advanced” tab at the top
v. Click on “Environmental Variables”
vi. We need to create a new system variable
vii. Copy the exact lines from the picture (yes it has to be in upper case)
viii. Click “OK” until you’re back to the Desktop and you’re finished
5. Windows may let you know that NX is trying to access something on the internet. Click Unblock or
you will not be able to use NX correctly.
