Data Analysis and Processing Guide

AR 600-8-2 outlines administrative tools commanders can use to suspend favorable personnel actions for soldiers exhibiting unsatisfactory behavior or performance. Suspensions, called FLAGs, can be applied for issues like failing fitness tests, weapons qualifications, or weight standards. FLAGs prevent promotions, awards, schooling, and other favorable actions until the underlying cause is resolved. Commanders use FLAGs to correct behavior and ensure soldiers meet Army standards.
