ELT METHODOLOGY (I) – 205

WEEK 1- FIRST THINGST FIRST

What I learned was activities done in the first class. Activities like ice
breakers have an important role to make students know eachothers, relax and
feel secure. Every person has positive or negative beliefs about the first class.
And I learned that first class is also so important for the teachers. As a teacher I
should care my students needs and expectations a lot to get enough information
about them and to set up good relationship with them. And I understood that the
students and the teacher should trust eachothers, so they will respect
oneanothers.

Also , I learned that we should be more careful while choosing an

activitiy because if it weren’t be suitable for the students, it would be boring. We
should choose activities according to their ages, levels and expectations. For
example, there was an activity named Names. I liked it a lot. When I become a
teacher in a primary school, I will apply it. As it is understood my favorite
activity is Names(ball throwing around the circle).

I understood the subject. I liked it very much, but I had some difficulty
in finding an appropriate activity for specific age and level.

I should focus on the correct use of activities. I should learn where and
how I am going to use them.
