Message from Yard. As you are aware, we all went through lot of trouble to arrive at a solution to
save all windows and portholes. We finally modified the Escape Routes which was accepted by ABS.
We certainly expected ABS to review the drawing based on the approved Escape Routes. It is
obvious they have not. Please see attached which is Drg. No. H55-Sht 1 (Rev11) with original ABS
remarks in red & and our comments in blue. We find that ABS has marked ALL open deck spaces
as escape routes. That is not correct. We have marked with a blue band those areas which qualify as
escape routes. Only in Main deck aft end we are not disagreeing. We accept ABS comments on
bhd. at fr86 at main deck level. Please take up above with ABS & resolve. If required, I am
prepared to put my nose in and take it up strongly through ABS Mumbai (just as I did in case of
emergency bilging in thruster compartments). In my case opinion the Technical thread L-028
