SUMMER READING 2010
PHILOSOPHY
Our goal at Fletcher High School is to continue academic learning throughout the summer
months. Reading is a skill that prepares students for life; students read for inspiration,
information, perspectives, and enjoyment.
Each year, students will read a combination of required texts and books chosen from the
College Board suggested reading list. Students in both honors and AP classes must read a
second novel from the suggested list. Students will be tested on the required titles during
the first week of English class through class activities, quizzes, and/or writing assignments.
A student who chooses not to complete the reading will receive a failing grade on the assignment.
