Habit of Mind Essay Grit and Optimism

This document is a student's essay on different habits of mind they developed throughout the school year. It discusses how the student showed grit and optimism during a difficult hiking trip with their class. They also discuss how they have worked to improve their wellness through various physical activities, though they could benefit from more sleep and healthier eating. The student is naturally organized but has also helped less organized peers. They have engaged more with their community through volunteering and were nominated for a local teen award. While not very creative in art, they have explored other creative outlets like writing. The student's collaboration and speaking up for others have improved over the year through team activities.
