Palm Oil Biogas Process Flowchart

This flowchart shows the process for a biogas plant at a palm oil mill in Sabah, Malaysia. Raw sludge enters acidification tanks and digesters where anaerobic bacteria break it down to produce biogas. The biogas is cooled, scrubbed of hydrogen sulfide, and either flared or used. Remaining sludge solids are dewatered and concentrated for use as fertilizer while effluent is treated in aerobic and polishing stages.
