Duties
Protect life and property by supervising and performing firefighting, emergency
medical service, hazardous materials, and fire prevention. Under direction of
Captain, supervise squad of firefighters in performance of their duties. In
absence of higher ranking officer, assume role of incident commander and
oversee emergency operations.
As member of education staff, provide instruction for Emergency Medical
Responder and Emergency Medical Technician courses as well as continuing
education courses to all licensure levels. Instruct Basic Life Support and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support for internal and community outreach programs.
As a fire instructor, assist training coordinator in development and presentation
of department and inter-agency training.
Perform duties consistent with Fire Inspector including pre-fire planning, routine
fire inspections, and plan reviews in conjunction with building department.
Respond, provide care, and transport acutely sick and injured patients as
Critical Care Paramedic for only mobile intensive care unit based in Lenawee
County.
Notable Achievements
National Disaster Response Team: Department Disaster Response Officer.
Presented proposal to township board which resulted in developing emergency
response team that responds as part of national disaster response network.
Developed and implemented policies and training to provide Advanced Life Support
during national disasters throughout the United States.
Inspection Program: Led overhaul of fire inspection department. Implemented
plan for routine fire inspections in service area and updating of pre-fire plans for first
time in over ten years. Developed process for plan review of new construction within
service area including permit process and cost recovery.
RIT Initiative: Developed Rapid Intervention Team policy and training curriculum.
Increased operational capabilities and effectiveness through this initiative. Highly
effective team now one of only three fully operational rapid intervention teams in
county.
New Employee Orientation: Responsible for overseeing field training program for
all new employees. This includes compiling statistical data, monitoring employee
progress through FTO program, monthly evaluation and review of progress, and

Fire Explorer Program: Founded fire explorer post in which over twenty youths
ages 12-19 meet to learn about careers in fire and emergency services. This outreach
program in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America aims to develop the future of

Grant Procurement: Oversee grant procurement for department including Federal,
State, and Local grant writing. Extensive experience in all aspects of grant writing
process from writing requests to reviewing requests prior to submission.
Firefighter Development (2012-Present): In conjunction with Lenawee County
Fire Chiefs Association, instructed Firefighter I and II students as part of Lenawee
County School.

Duties
Respond and provide advanced life support care in primary 911 response
system. Provide inter-facility transport of sick and injured. Cleared paramedic
in Monroe, Lenawee, Jackson, and Calhoun Counties.
Notable Achievements
Payroll/Scheduling Specialist (2012-2013): Responsible for payroll, scheduling,
attendance, and disciplinary tracking of 600+ employees. Worked in conjunction
with road supervisors to develop alternate staffing models, process shift bids, and
streamline scheduling processes. Trained employees in payroll and scheduling
