Objectives : At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to
1. segment words into phonemes to spell.
2. complete the crossword puzzle using the words starting with h and b.
3. fill in the h or b letters to form words.(LINUS)
Teaching Aids :rhyme, alphabet cards, picture and word cards, music, box,
worksheet(crossword puzzle, filling in the alphabets), circle maps
Activities :
Set Induction:
1. Teacher shows the rhyme.
2. Pupils recite the rhyme after teacher.(echo reading)
3. Pupils identify and say the words starting with h and b.
4. Pupils circle the h and b alphabets in the rhyme. (LINUS)
Activity 1
1. Pupils say the /h/ and /b/ sounds repeatedly.
2. Teacher shows some pictures and pupils guess the words.
3. Pupils match the words with the pictures.
4. Pupils rearrange the alphabets to form words.(LINUS)
Activity 2
1. Teacher gets pupils ready to play musical box game.
2. When the music is stopped, pupils draw a picture from the box.
3. Pupils say the word and segment the sounds.
4. Teacher says the word and pupils segment the sounds.(LINUS)
Activity 3
1. Teacher distributes worksheets to pupils.
2. Pupils complete the crossword puzzle using the words starting with h and b.
3. Pupils fill in the h or b letters to form words.(LINUS)
Closure
1. Teacher displays two circle maps on the board.
2. Pupils say or write other words starting with /h/ and /b/ sounds.
