classroom and sit in their assigned music seat. He or she will sit legs
crossed, hands in their lap with minimal talking in order for all students
to have the same listening opportunity while the opening piece is
being played.

Chant and move with students

note, and third group pats eighth
notes. Fourth group plays rhythm on

rhythm sticks. As an informal assessment, the teacher will visually
assess student understanding through knowledge of the instrument,
note value and rhythmic dictation.
