Abc Book Project

The document describes a school project where students create an ABC book based on a book they have read. They are instructed to choose a word or phrase for each letter of the alphabet that reflects elements of the story, such as characters, plot events, and setting. For each entry, students must write a paragraph explaining how their word relates to the book and include a picture representing the word. The final product should have a cover designed by the student listing the story title, author, and ABC book. Relevant standards emphasize using detailed language and examples to develop topics for the intended audience.

(PROJECT # 3)
Description- Students will organize elements they learned from the book
that they read into an alphabet book format.
What Youll Need- Several sheets of copy paper or construction paper,
markers, crayons, colored pencils, binding agent (stapler, yarn, string, paper
fasteners, etc)
Steps:
1. After reading your book use the ABC planner sheet to organize what
word or phrase you would like to represent for each letter of the
alphabet.
2. The words/phrases you choose must reflect the themes, characters,
setting, plot events, etc. that you read about from your book.
3. Each letter of the alphabet must be represented from A to Z.
4. The letter you are representing must be written large and the
word/phrase accompanying it must written in normal size and
explained in great detail how it correlates with the story you read.
Each letter must be accompanied by a 4-5 sentence paragraph
discussing this words relevance/importance to your novel.
5. Somewhere next to the letter and the explanation sentence must be a
colorful picture representing the sentence you wrote.
6. You may organize your ABC book in any way you choose. You can fit
one letter per page or if you can fit two letters per page that would be
fine.
