Encouraging Young People To Take College Courses

Reducing college fees and education costs for teenagers could help reverse the increasing trend of students dropping out of school early. Over the last 7 years, the number of teenagers leaving school between ages 14-18 has risen significantly. Many leave due to inability to afford continuing education or unwillingness to further their education. Lowering college fees and introducing more public grants would make education more accessible for low-income families and help stop this downward trend, though it would require a large initial investment. In the long run, increased education levels of more students would make this approach cost-effective.

ENCOURAGING YOUNG PEOPLE TO TAKE COLLEGE COURSES
Over the last 7 years, the number of teenagers (between 14-18)
droping out the
school has increased by a huge margin. Actually, many studies made
on this field
suggest they are leaving school this early either because they cannot
afford it or
they are just unwilling to take their education further. It is clear that
this is going to
affect to the knowledge and skills of future generations. Thus, some
changes must
be done to reverse this situation.
One approach that could be taken is to promote e-learning methods.
For instance,
the Government could develop online courses and distribute
electronic devices
among young students in order to facilitate them to do their
homework . This
could attract them to not leaving school too early. However, the
government
should invest a very large amount of funds for education and its
effectiveness has
not been tested yet.
An alternative approach would be to reduce college fees to make
education more
accesible for teenagers whose families might not be able to afford it.
For example,
the are many low-income families who even have difficulties to pay
the public

transport. Therefore, introducing cheeper fees together with new

public grants for
certain students will enable to stop this lowering trend of teenagers
leaving school
so early.
In conclusion, a major reduction of college fees and, in general, of the
education
costs for teenagers might be expensive at first but, in a long-term
period, it would
eventually become cost-effective by increasing the number of
students who do not
leave school at an early age.
