Our drama club just announced the cast of our latest

production, Oklahoma! Students are hard at work memorizing lines,

learning songs, and building sets. We are excited for these students!
Student Council has also started, and we had over 60 students express
an interest in this excellent leadership opportunity. Student Council
provides great opportunities for these students to hone their leadership
skills and become a voice among their peers.
We had over 130 students show up for our first ever Best Buddies callout
meeting. Best Buddies is a national organization in which NEMS is
proud to be affiliated, where students are buddied up with special
needs students. This is an amazing opportunity for our kids, and the
number of students interested speaks volumes about the caring and
supportive student body we have here at NEMS.
Robotics Club also held its callout, and will be starting up soon. Students
will be learning more about how they can design and build robots,
using their critical thinking and problem solving skills in fun and
interesting ways.
Hundreds of students have participated in our Miller Gold PTO fundraiser.
Thank you to all who donated dollars to this worthy cause, which helps
to fund many recognitions and activities for students and staff at
NEMS.
Our NEMS staff also created a school "hashtag" to highlight other news and
information about our school. Check out #unleasheast to see all the great learning
happening!
Go Millers!
